The car looks seriously imposing in this particular video.

The AMG GT 4 door liftbacks' presentation will certainly be one of the automotive year 2018 highlights, regardless of whether its' "drop-dead gorgeous", an "acquired taste" (a bit like its' CLS sibling) or "offensive to the eye".

Frankly, I really have no idea what I'll think when the car is unveiled. Should the presentation vehicle be matte-coated and black rimmed, I reckon that I'll bitch and moan like a drama queen. And then...when glossy-lacquered, bicolor rimmed examples appear, I'll exclaim "All is forgiven !".

In saying this, I am liking (save the wing) what I see. Hopefully, Mercedes-AMG will not launch the car with a matte-painted, black-wheeled, fixed rear-winged and yellow striped "First Edition" presented by Dr. Z wearing Bruno Mars' clothes.

In all seriousness though I'm sick of seeing the E interior in everything. It's nice, but doesn't hold a candle to what you see in the S-coupe. And I was hoping a car as special as this would get a more bespoke interior, even if it is a bit of a parts bin exercise.

Probably not be all too bothered at all.

I trust that there will be some interior elements that distinguish the X290 AMG 4 door liftback from its' C257 sibling. Center console...top of the screen binnacle...trim...etc.

Besides, I personally have grown to quite like the "E-Class" type of dash/interior. I find it more modern, somehow attractively "minimal" versus the opulent, voluptuous character of the S-Class models.
