M3/M4 [Spy Shots] BMW M3 & M4 (G80/G82/G83)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

Shmee and the Virgin together I thought it had been a nightmare but I see that it is real

I see some destructive free reviews, some auto "enthusiasts" these days seem to be people who want nothing to evolve.
Without going into philosophies, it is simply an arrangement of the exhausts that immediately looks good it is not chesse or anything and that I discuss it to anyone, instead it is a form that I have never seen before and it is very pleasant, a supercar arrangement in a touring coupe, remarkable

RIGHT!!! PRESS RIGHT!!!

I'm assuming that this prototype is a testing platform for the M performance parts, from looking at the rear wing which looks smaller than the one of the previous GTS, these side blades of which the M2 has the same ones, and the quirky angled exhaust pipes in the previous photo.

I don't really think, those sideskirts with blades are integrated into the bodywork, not as an accessory, but as a stand on the socket, and the exhausts thus mark that it is another model, I do not know if CS or CSL or GTS, the latter I hope no, it has no reason to exist but the others ..... welcome

Is that based simply on the history behind the older nameplates?
I do not understand the question well, but if it is what I suppose it would be time to arrive at the CSL (i like the package) with all the fireworks (as it seems to be according to the photo), although that repeated rear wing seems very little to me and also ugly from the first GTS, for that detail and many others I never liked those cars and therefore I do not like the name

Yeah, I was wondering why you'd want a CS/CSL but not a GTS, I was wondering if it was just about the name, or something else. I think I understand your answer. I was just curious, that's all.

I was half lost in the translation
I can add that I never perceived that the GTS raised even half the praise, nor were they enchanted or remembered as the CSL, rather they did not stand out, they were expensive and in general, from what I read, they stayed halfway in the proposal.

My ideal? that all the new CSL (M3 / M4 / M8 / M5) have an entire CFRP body, 200 Kilos less, and from there to posterity

More than just M-Performance parts IMO.

Maybe the spoiler will be optional, but the exhaust system and rear bumper designate a whole new variant.

Kudos to BMW for differentiating model variants, I don’t see what the fuss is about. Alfa switched their exhausts for the GTA which look good.

Take for example the GT 4 door range. 4 different model variants with only really visually different exhaust shapes. GT 73 looks very very similar also...

I'll agree that "GTS" doesn't invoke the same feelings among BMW fans as "CSL" probably does, but ultimately the GTS cars haven't been that different in terms of what they did to what either of the CSL's did, and arguably, these days... the "L" in CSL is likely to draw ire from fans unless they can make big weight savings from what is likely to be a heavy-ish car.

If they get 200kg off the weight of the standard M versions, including making some changes to the engine/drive train, I'd be very impressed, I'm thinking that would require GT4 race car levels of sparseness to the interior.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
