BMW M235i spied, this time in Valencia Orange

The heavily camouflaged car of the photo above is a 2014 235i, BMW's coupe version of the 1 series, set to debut as a stand alone model series, starting with the number 2. The two exhausts, one at each side, will be differentiating the biggest non-M engine available, the 300hp 3.0l turbocharged six-cylinder engine, called N55. The colour this time appears to beValencia Orange, but BMW's signature camouflage tape doesn't let us identify more details of the 2er's design. The most taboo part is the front end design, as the 3 and 5 door versions of the 1 series were heavily criticized about their front end, so we can't wait to see how this one will turn out.

Up to this point, there is no official release date, but we expect the 2 series to be launched in early 2014, with sales starting towards the end of the year. Until then, click more to see our full photo gallery, or join our forum discussion (link)

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
