BMW posted this on Facebook a little while ago....with a question to guess what car it is.

BMW's Text that goes with the picture above, sounds like we have something coming this weekend.
It's friday! And nothing could be closer to the upcoming weekend than a little mystery... So which BMW model is hiding behind the blur? Take a guess and tell us in the comments below.

Lol. That's messed up for BMW to put up a Sedan of theirs now with a front end even more similar to the other Sedans of theirs, blur it out on top of all that, and ask people to figure out which one it is. :D

It is a teaser for the 7 Series Facelift that will be unveiled @ 2012 Beijing Automotive Show. Scott said there will be no M or M Performance 7 Series, or according to the last interview, it was not yet decided. So this can only by a 750d xDrive with M package. Other than the special rims, the special name and the M package standard, but without fog lights, M Performacne Automobiles looks no different than the normal ones with optional M pack.

Some interesting phrases and what the reply really means...

1. No Plans for a..... under Consideration.
2. Under Consideration.... Its coming.
3. No business case.... We would like to, really.

Look out for possible leaks of the 7er Lci , maybe today but M night, Beijing is tomorrow (Sunday).

No, that's what you would say, which is sort of a huge difference...

Not everyone is a BMW n00b here. You're pretty much the only one in fact, who visits the BMW forum every single day, yet who doesn't know what car he's looking at.
And the strange thing is, you're not even ashamed of yourself!!! Weird, to say the least.... :p joke/joke

Looks like a 7er sharing the M5 design.

Now that's more like it, K-A! :D

How could I be ashamed of myself when BMW works so hard to make their cars interchangeable? I'm merely one of the sheep! :D

You realize that I never have actually went to the "BMW Forum" here. I just look at the new "New Posts" News Feed and click on individual Threads. I have no idea where any Thread is situated, i.e I just see it in the big swimming pool that is CGF.

No, I didn't realize that as it's not the way I operate myself. So yeah, I take that back then. I simply go to the forum and post in the thread I feel like replying in. Always start in the BMW section, and usually just stay there (80% of my posts are here)..

Also, I do have to admit I had to look twice. That blurry image does look a lot like a 5er. But you, K-A, should see it's a 7er.

Only the M550d I think :

^ It's the same picture no doubt, but you don't convince me: The M550d has been launched already, BMW uses Photoshop for official press pics all the time, and the grille on the blurry pic appears to be much bigger (to me).

Time will tell.....hopefully today!!!!
And I hope I don't have to eat my words again :D But why they would show a 5er in that blurry pic is beyond me?!?!?!

The grille appear maybe bigger to you because the picture has been resized, but the grille isn't bigger enough to be the one of the 7er.

"It's friday! And nothing could be closer to the upcoming weekend than a little mystery... So which BMW model is hiding behind the blur? Take a guess and tell us in the comments below." And this sentance do not talk about an upcoming model...

Well, I'll say two things. One: BMW isn't doing themselves any favors if they're trying to pretend that their design idiom isn't interchangeably close to those of us who "don't pay close enough attention", though I'm getting the impression that either they don't care, or find that to be a good thing (?). Two: It does look like a 7er to me, as the grille looks bigger, blacker, and I can somewhat make out the higher character line and more uncluttered sheetmetal in the door area. Also, there appears to be a slightly more aggressive "fin" or "lip" on top of each side air dam, which makes me think that it's a 7er who's adopted the new M-style bumper that the whole range is using.

See, I can dissect the nuances when I want to. :D

If you do, you won't be alone, but you won't have to.

Picsoubmw found the pic I was looking for, and yes it looks like exactly the same, but that is a trap. BMW are good at teasing. Time will tell, but if you have no patience I can tell you right now: 7 F01 LCI ;)

Great quality render, looks totally real. However, wow I hope it does not get that front end. Looks like a Chinese 7-Series.
