Hot! Porsche: What's Next

I think you've been watching too many Hollywood films.
I guess I read too much newspapers.

I don’t feel safe anymore in these countries, especially Germany.

Germany had 29000 knive attacks in 2024, no wonder I don’t feel safe anymore.

I guess with a 140kWh battery and a range of 900km it wouldn’t bother me anymore.

Petrol/Diesel filling stations with accompanying stores located in socalled urban/suburban "social troublespots" are known to be the most hazardous venues in Germany in this particular context. These shops, staffed by a genuine human being that sell alcoholic beverages of all sorts, shisha tobacco and vapes often attract socalled noturnal "young party people" that often have big chips on their shoulders. These venues are also common assembly points for clan/gang confrontations, all the more frequently involving knives and hence stabbings. Video surveillance is often faulty, old school tech, lighting is often hardly the best or altogether nonfunctional.

In contrast, larger charging facilities provide very bright, AI supported and movable LED lighting as well as AI supported surveillance with a direct link to security service centers. Many charging points have immediate, direct emergency service notification facilities. Shop facilities are automated and the scope of intoxicating substances offered, if at all, is far more limited. And the young rascals with big chips on their shoulders probably don't think that it's "cool" hanging around BEV charging stations that are generally pretty quiet, devoid of mental gymnasts revving their engines to the redlines seemingly without end while stationary.

I live within 15-minutes of the German border and visit the country frequently, and while I'm not going to get into a debate about knife crime or whether you're being over-cautious (only you can decide that), I haven't noticed any differences, and neither have I changed my behaviour. I still think the chances of being a victim of violent crime in Europe is extremely low, and I certainly don't think it changes one thing in how I go about my daily business, let alone decide whether to buy an EV or not.
