BMW seem to be doing fine. Though, his vision was clearly ahead of the curve for them, so perhaps they'd be further toward the future than they are right now.

Reitzle is the guy who's currently with Daimler, yes?

Reitzle is the guy who's currently with Daimler, yes?

No, after leaving BMW he headed to Ford in late 1999 - being named CEO of Ford's premium brands division - Premier Automotive Group (Jaguar, AM, Volvo, LR, Lincoln etc).

In 2003 he left the automotive industry management, and since then he's been the CEO of Bavarian company Linde AG, world leading supplier of industrial, process and speciality gases. Yet he returned somehow in the automotive industry again. Not the member of the management team, though. In late 2009 Reitzle was named a Supervisory Board chairman of German automotive group Continental AG. He's been in this position since.

Btw, dr. Milberg, the man who succeed Pischetsrieder as BMW AG CEO in 1999 (and left the position in 2002 when Helmut Panke - then BMW's CFO was named CEO) has been the BMW AG Supervisory Board chairman since 2004.

Also, according to German co-determination act SB of AG has to comprise half shareholder representatives & half employee representatives. So, the employees / unions have a powerful position in German companies! So radical solutions have to be backed by the employees, otherwise the management doesn't get support from SB, and from the employees - who can go on strike etc.

The Spirit of Reitzle lives on in not only product planning , but in the two generations of 1er - Which was Reitzle's vision for a larger BMW rather than investing in Rover - The E87 not only spawned The two Hatches and Coupe and Cabrio , a sedan an Touring were also designed but gave way at the final hour. The Range Rover before TATA got hold of it was Reitzle's vision , the first BMW X5 and X3 and of course the early beginnings of the MINI and the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Which Reitzle wanted it to be the Worlds best luxury car - a feat it achieved with great effort. Reitzle determined the course of the three icons - MINI , Range Rover and Phantom. You still see him on Press days of shows like Geneva and Frankfurt. Along with other BMW alumni.

Ok, back to the car then ;)

Would like to hear if someone could point the difference in rear light, can't see a bit of change.

Blinkers ... There will be two different configurations: one for xenon headlights, the other for optional full-LED headlights.

Xenons:

Full-LEDs (don't mind the old bumper & old side mirrors):

The blinkers have moved to above the headlights and will be LED no doubt.

No, the normal Bi-Xenon headlight have the usual LED blinkers on the side, plus this time LED (white) corona rings. IT is on the full-LED headlights that the blinkers, alwyas LED, move above.

@EnI
what about speedo? On some spy shots its old, and there is one shot with new speedo.

It also looks like it has touchpad iDrive.

Thanks guys, hadn't noticed that before!

Also, the speedo makes me wonder too. Maybe, the touchpad iDrive control has the new speedo, and the regular iDrive will have the 'old' speedo?

I though aobut it too, but the X5 F15 having the touchpad iDrive doesn't have the new large screen instrument cluster.

I think it may just be one more display, for night vision and other information. Apparently the S Class gets all the instrument cluster as a display, but that is way too much IMO.

Night vision is already on the iDrive screen, I don't see why they would need an additional screen when the primary screen is plenty big already?
As for the X5 F15, yeah, that one doesn't have the different speedo. It makes me wonder too, but then again, the F15 has a completely different size speedo cluster, where they have enough space for the trademark quad round speedo in combination with touchpad controls. F15 is being build up with touchpad controls from day one, where it is an afterthought on the F01...

Hadn't noticed what before?

Looks like the normal iDrive to me. It doesn't have the lines on it like the F15 X5 above.

Why would it be an "additional" screen? They would just move the night vision from the iDrive screen to the instrument binnacle.

Not a moment too soon either. Having used the night vision on the S Class extensively, the instrument binnacle is where it should be, not in the iDrive screen.

I haven't in the S class, but have in the 7er, and I can imagine it being easier to see things in the S. You have to maybe look away a bit too far in the 7er (move your head instead of flickering your eyes).
And it's an additional screen because as far as I know the 7er right now doesn't have a screen capable of outputting video signal in the instrument cluster....?

OR could it be that when Night Vision is ticked on the options list the instrument cluster/binnacle changes accordingly?
To center display as per attachment from tomazino

It's not NightVision specific display.

The car (spied in Prague) with the new gauges DOES NOT have Night Vision function button present, NOR does it feature NV IR camera in the specially designed grille.

Car with the new gauges yet without NV function button:
