Well, to be fair, when one compares a test car covered in camouflage to a finished one I think it is pretty fair to assume being fair is not exactly on top of their agenda.

Ah the CS. Not a day goes by without me thinking what the market would be like if it made production and what would BMW's status be like if it had. The CS was the bridge to Rolls-Royce Ghost and it would have made perfect sense.
In a sense where is the CS now? It is in the FIZ ideally for inspiration. Although some of the design ideas are future apparent. The BMW X4 and 4er series are great beneficiaries of its design and that rear which disguises that it is actually a four door disguised by that hatch like C-Pillar will feature on the upcoming 4er Gran Coupe.

Of course I hope to see something like it at my remaining time at BMW and it could be a strong possibility as in some markets the Gran Coupe out performs the 7er , opening a door to see that SUVs and niche luxury models are gaining the sales over luxury sedans. Which is why when you hear people talking about four door coupe this and four door coupe that , it is right to investigate these options as the demographic has changed over the past few years.

The CS is approaching its seventh birthday this week and it still looks good as before but let's see that in motion and here that potential V10 Growl as we ponder what could have been?

The one aspect where BMW is behind its rivals is the glasshouse, which is too tall. It is better on the 6 Series GT, but it does not look in harmony with the rest of the car.



The CS has no equvalent, not even the Estoque. The CS has qualities of a Porsche and of an Aston Martin in one.

Ahhhgg SCOTT, not even a tease? a "there is something going on" or "the board is thinking..."?

I am afraid the CS revival is as freeze as ever...

What I can tell you is that the prospect of a new CS is definitely on the table , as they looking to shore up the luxury market share of BMW.
In some markets the X5 outsells the 7er as does the new 6er Gran Coupe so they are looking at sustainability for the 7er.
The X7 is of course a much preferred choice at the moment because the SUV is becoming the de-facto choice in this segment and then you have the more practical coupe-sedan which is why at our pre-Shanghai symposium my equivalent at Mercedes-Benz did let slip that the next CLS will be positioned differently which in my estimation means allowing for a smaller - mid size 4er Gran Coupe rival. At a guess for consistency CLS will be the S-Klasse Coupe four dr with possibly CLC or CLE?
And then Bentley did make some announcement of a four dr Continental GT Coupe which I always believed the Flying Spur was but let's not stand in the way where there is growth and money to be made.

Not likely at the moment. That same V10 was with the anniversary M5 and was even tested in the F10 , possibly the great talking point of the E60 was the V10 - it truly was engineering genius and that noise will never leave you. I know someone at M who has a collection of BMW engine noises on their iTunes.
With the engine developed by M as was the strategy for the CS project under Gerhard Richter , had the economic uncertainty not arrived you can only imagine how great this car could have been?
