3 Series (G50) [Spy shots] 2027 BMW 3 Series (G50)

The eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G50 (sedan version) and BMW G51 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') compact executive cars. It is to be unveiled and launched in 2026, with the next-generation M3 set to launch the year after. It will feature a new, minimalist design inspired by BMW's Vision Neue Klasse concept, and will be offered with both internal combustion and purely electric powertrains, though on different platforms.
Is this for the US market? I wonder if Europe will still have a 318d, 320d and 330d for the G50.

Some markets might, but diesel is seriously dead. I suppose the i3 will replace all those. I wouldn't be surprised if the only diesel is the B57, because a diesel company car is pretty much out of the question for the vast majority of businesses.

That looks freaking awesome. Wow would look fantastic if this is like the production version.

I believe that the diesel variants of the G50 will directly mirror the G45 and G60/G61 diesel lineups, where they spawn the B47 20d and B57 40d models.

Right! Yeah I guess the 2.0d makes a lot of sense in certain markets. Over here in Holland not so much though.

Absolutely! Including my own country: Thailand, where the 320d is still highly relevant due to its reliability and fantastic fuel economy. It has been in the position of top seller from the 3er model range since the E90 to the G20 generation. Even in today's Thai automotive landscape where the industry is supporting electrification, the majority of Thai customers, specifically the ones living on the outskirts of Bangkok and many other rural areas, are willing to buy the 320d instead of the 330e. Meanwhile, the M340i is in its own (niche) league.

320d is a damn perfect company car for SA. The wait for G50 may be too long for me, however. Then again my car only has 72000 km on it. Decisions, decisions...
