I need to see better shots of the outside of the car showing all the angles (front, back, side profile, front 3/4 and back 3/4) and different colours and maybe I will appreciate the styling better. At the moment there is slight disappointment but maybe when the car is officially released and see nicer photos and then I see it in real life, it may appear better looking than what we have seen so far. It is probably a design that will grow on you. Its the same with the interior, maybe BMW will reveal shots under better lighting that will make the interior look better than the crappy shot seen so far.

I felt the same initially when the F30 was launched, thought it was too conservative and looked too much like an evolution of the E90, but that car now I really like the styling alot, even that nose with the lights joining the grill, it grows on a person.

Even with the W222 I was expecting more, some of its shape is similar to the W221, but now the more I have seen it the more I love it.

Lets hope that it will be the same with the G11 when its launched.

Late to the party, but wow. I actually like it.

I'm just surprised BMW screwed up and let this leak happen more than a year ahead of its time. Couldn't they put it in a container on its own. They can certainly afford that.

I'm guessing somebody is getting fired and somebody is getting served.

And on that bombshell, LaArtist's reaction over at another forum, for shits and giggles:

LOL, good times.

Btw, I've been meaning to ask you guys this, but what actually happened to La artist and what caused him to get banned? Sorry for going o/t.

Here I did some rough photoshop of the wheel which sits better on the ground, and also some color effect.. the side profile still look very much blend to me, but compare to the spy pics it looks more three dimensions. The head lamp looks not that bad after all.. or maybe Im already used to it. but anyway.. I hope this helps a little. cheers

Fortunately, I've my expectation adjusted/lowered after Eni's earlier posts about G11 being vanilla and all that, therefore I didn't not experience the shock effect over the leaked photos like most of the people here.

From the photo, the headlight looks oversized and the shape isn't as attractive as I was hoping for. But I'll reserve my judgement on the front when the official photos are released with better angle.

Rear looks sporty as I expect from a BMW, although it looks more like a facelift to the still-good-looking F01, than a brand new model.

The interior, however, is a let down, based on the pic available. Understand that VFL is the concept that previews the future design features of the core line up, but this interior doesn't seem to have any influence from VFL, not even the general layout. The empty space between main console and the gear shift area is unbearable in this category IMO. It's like the designer didn't put in as much effort as F15.

I hope BMW will really greenlight 9er with more exciting and expressive design features after the undereffort of 7er.

I was hoping 3er to look better in person but until today i don't like it, I just hope that G11 will change my perception until I see the actual car in person, sorry if my perception offended anyone.

I m glad I don't have this. I think the design makes the interior feel lighter and less heavy. Just like modern day Ferrari:

Audi is going same way (disconnected dash & central tunnel) in the upper segment ... as previewed with Prologue Concept:

It's a trend ... Actually MB is the one going anti-trend with all the massive connection of the dash & central tunnel.

Because modern automobiles are referring to modern tech solutions such as touch screens , control centres etc.
Most functions are now controlled via these interfaces this eliminates need for controls , consoles and blanking plates and adds extra space to the front space of the car.
The E65 7er referred most auxiliary controls via iDrive but people found it complex. It shows how much progress has made every one proficient now in the use of technology.

The G11's interior resembles the 3 series but has a feeling closer to that of the VFL's, in my opinion. Also, because no part of the dash is connected to the center console on the G11, it looks pleasant and intentional rather than half-baked.

^Agree! Where is the "layering" that eliminates/hides the gap? It makes the interior flows better and more coherent IMHO.
