1 Series [Spy Shots] BMW 1-Series coupe

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
lol, no way. M3 V8 will win that. 123d probably in it's class though.

Or not ... Audi & MB are coming with their 4-cylinder twin-turbo as well. Both with 204PS as well. Audi already showed the engine in Coupe Quattro Concept, while MB will show their engine with bluetec in Frankfurt (the engine will be featured in S-class - consuming only 6.6L/100km combined).

123i (120si) with I4 turbocharged engine will come soon - sources say with 218PS.

And .... yes, 1er coupe press release coming VERY soon. :usa7uh:

Regarding BMW I4 turbo: according to my info it's twin-turbo. Same tech as N54.

And you know both of them will walk away with awards :usa7uh:

The drive I was on was a clandestine introduction for the media who will report their conclusions shortly. As we had to drive both 1er hatches and Audi A3 , Mercedes SportCoupe (Snigger!) before getting the keys to the Coupe. As they have stressed the Coupe is the more performance , sporty dynamic interpretation of the 1er platform and you can feel this in it's enhanced steering and suspension modifications - coupled with this new diesel, show it's beginnings as a born winner. The balance and agility with this engine is second to none - No nose heavy feeling everything just fits like a glove.

As mentioned throughout my reports over the last couple of years. The development focused on returning to reinterpreting the days of the E30 especially the E30 M3 in advocating an exciting concept of an enthusiast's driving machine. Purely the Coupe is a sporty dynamic car first and the (useful) rear interior space signify's this, as the driver is positioned in about the centre of the car which gives the design a kicked back look squat on it's haunches.

Agility could not be tested thoroughly as we were confined mainly to city streets and autobahns. (It is fast and remember with 204 PS at your disposal !) -:t-drive: But that opportunity will come but so far I liked what I saw and I am sure it will live up to it's expectations - "We don't work so hard to deliver a disappointment, if we did we cannot be called enthusiasts if we are not passionate about what we do" Someone said with a great big grin.:D

Some American Tourists saw the car as we parked outside a Kaffehaus - Cooing "It's the new 2 series!" Unfortunately I was not allowed to answer questions so in my best pronounced English "I say sorry but I do not speak English":D They asked if they could photograph the car but I said no But I am sure they did. There was two in two colors - (working title as)" Charcoal Mist and Saltire Blue".

I can also add that the new sequential turbo diesel will be coming to GB, I have contacted BMW GB and they have said that they are awaiting confirmation on the arrival Date for the BMW 1 Series 123D but would not be drawn any further than that.

So is the 1er coupe suppose to be around or the same size as the E30? At first it sounded as if they wanted to make more a connection between the 1er coupe and the original 2002, but now it seems that the E30 3er is being touted as the ancestor of the 1er coupe, which makes sense being that the 2002 was the precursor to the creation of the 3er.

Giannis, it really means a lot that you remember my 3 series. :)
Though I must clarify a few things. The 3 series is back in Beirut Lebanon. Even though it's registered in my name, it was my dad who bought it, I barely drove it for a month before I left: so technically I'm no owner. What's more is that I've been away from Lebanon for almost a year now. I'm currently in Montreal and plan on eventually moving to the States to go on with my residency years. That's when I'll finally start earning some money. And that's hopefully when I'll be considering getting a one series coupe, if the price is within reach of course. But knowing BMW, the 1 series will be overpriced, and I'll probably end up with a small japanese car or a second hand mini cooper which is not a bad thing.
Hope this clarified a few things, sorry for the confusion :t-cheers:

I see... I noticed you changed your location from Lebanon to Montreal, and i guess this is because of the war? Also, if i recall correctly you are a doctor. So you won't have any trouble finding a job and earning some money!

eni scott

I still can t figure out this.

The 135i coupe will come 100 procent i already know from my dealer because they can pre order one.

So here we are with 135i coupe 306 hp with a big tuning potiential. Lots 335i are already driving around with 360hp. Will bmw tranfer this car to an semi M version with wide arches and LSD etc. Or will there be a M1 with an atmo 6cil engine with all the M goodies.

And if there is an M version of 1 coupe will it be sold a lot if there is a 135i which is a lot cheaper and have a big tuning potential.

The m3 has 420hp if you want that from the 335i engine you need to rework engine a lot at high costs.
chip tuning is not enough to go faster than an m3. So the M version is still the boss.

But with 135i vs m1 with about 350hp atmo . With an easy chip tuning you can outrun an m1 with the 135i. How does bmw and bmw M see this.
