I just hope it gets the V12 in some form or another. The V6 hybrid setup can be the "entry level" model.

I don’t think at this level people will buy an entry level V6. Ferrari are bound to draw more first time customers with this SUV and having a V6 like the 296 will get them an ~ 800hp SUV. I’m not sure they would want that when the Urus with its update will probably be close to that number and will have a V8 and will possibly be a lot cheaper.

But then again what do I know? People will swarm to the Ferrari badge like flies.

That is what I’m talking about the setup from the 296.

The Heart Of a Thoroughbred - A new Ferrari is coming. At its heart beats a new V12 engine that celebrates its bloodline of performance, innovation and excellence

Clearly talking about the Purosangue. So yeah, as suspected it's getting a V12. However, I am not sure how "new" it is. Looking at the video and comparing it with some pictures of the F140 - Ferrari's current V12 - it looks very similar (compare the placement of the holes for the studs, the shape of the combustion chambers and the water cooling passages):

It's official! Finally a car manufacturer that cares about @Merc1

"We've tested several options. It was clear that the V12, for the performance and driving experience it could provide, was the right option for the market," Vigna told Reuters ahead of the Purosangue’s unveiling in the coming months.

Imagine it with a Novitec exhaust? :icondrool:icondrool:icondrool:icondrool:icondrool

Ferrari and Lamborghini, the only car makers with balls big enough to keep the V12s still going.
Fair play to Ferrari. The luxury and prestige segments are overwhelmed with V8 flagship SUVs. A V12 will set their low riding SUV from the rest.

However I wouldn't rule out a V8 variant for those who want to daily their Purosange but find a V12 too tiring to drive.

Yeah I didn't get that comment either. There is nothing "tiring" about driving a V12. Intimidating maybe, but not tiring IMO.

M

Are you serious?
Yes. However, whether or not the V12 will be tiring to drive woll depend on the powerband.

The V12 GTC4Lusso develops peak torque at 5,700 rpm which is brilliant for an exotic but perhaps not ideal for a 5 door daily suv. The Cullinan develops peak torque at 1,600rpm which is perfect for its intended purpose but too low for a Ferreri.

Urus peak torque is available from 2,250rpm which is one of the reasons why the car is incredibly well liked - it's vicious in corsa mode but easy going enough in strands mode.

Best case scenario is that the V12 is the Purosange has an entirely new engine with a powerband that strikes a well judge balance between effortless V12 power and a wailing sound track.

What’s the NPS or CSI for Ferrari V12 customers? Then we could understand if that’s an issue.

i hope they make it like the Lusso , taxor Sharp and uncompromising like they used to .
It’s a f#ckin Ferrari , it’s like Lamborghini used to be . The urus is a exotic Audi.

let it be insane.

but make a v8 tt or hybrid version for the posers..

I love these insane Ferraris like the gto, super fast , lusso v12.

someone needs to have some balls in the industry

Good point. V12 means that we could see a GTO variant ???

With a V12 engine it will certainly be priced closed to a Cullinan specced up with carbon fiber mud flaps and €4,000 rubber bootliner.
