The proportions of the W206 looks spot on in this shot. A bit evolutionary compared to W205.

Ach sooo...

Herr Kacher is indicating that there WILL be C206 coupes/cabriolets on offer. That's contrary to some (in the meantime a bit dated) speculation that the 2 door C-Class derivatives would be discontinued. That surprises me-but I can dig it.

Some recent pics, when Greg Kable came along for a first ride on the facelifted E-Class @CES. :)

“It might not look like it, but it’s one of the most comprehensive facelifts we’ve ever undertaken,” says Michael Kelz, laying his hand on the bonnet of a lightly disguised Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The prototype we’ve been riding in over smooth surfaced roads through the desert regions of Nevada is the new four-wheel-drive E450 4Matic. It runs the turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder M256 petrol engine with a 48-volt electrical system and integrated starter motor to provide it with mild hybrid properties.

The man responsible for the engineering of the E-Class in all its various forms - saloon, estate, All Terrain, coupé and cabriolet - says the dynamic character of the facelifted model will closely mirror that of its predecessor.

“There’s been some work to better tune the suspension to the latest generation of Label A tyres, which help us with overall efficiency in terms of CO2 emissions and the like. However, there are no major changes, either to the steel spring or air-sprung setups.”

Wow, that is a clear revelation, talking about leaks!

I see that sometimes they insist more on changing practical and really usable designs, (infotainment at eye level), which should be mandatory for safety, but the "change to change" and renew weighs more

I forgot how ugly those HVAC vents were. Hopefully they are only for testing purpose and the production version looks better or is better executed.

I wonder what this new interior tech means for the G-Class which doesn't even have the latest command system that's features in the A-Class. Yet it's one of Mercedes most expensive and iconic cars.

We are going to face this conundrum as tech moves much faster than the 7 year life cycle of cars. Unless car manufacturers move to a modular infotainment that’s can be removed/ replaced/ updated more frequently, this issue will not be resolved

Probably when CLS/E Class gets updated we will see it on G Class. But MBUX from next gen S/C Class would not come that soon.
