C-Class (W206) [Spy Shots] 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W206 spied pics & info thread

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W206) is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which is produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG since 2021. It replaces the W205 C-Class which had been produced since 2014. The fifth-generation C-Class is available in sedan (W206), station wagon/estate (S206), and long-wheelbase sedan (V206) body styles. The W206 C-Class is based on the Mercedes MRA II rear-wheel drive modular platform also used by the W223 S-Class.

I wonder what this new interior tech means for the G-Class which doesn't even have the latest c...

One would think getting the same UI in every car is pretty basic these days, but MB still seems to struggle with that after 2 decades. Quite unreal really.

I forgot how ugly those HVAC vents were. Hopefully they are only for testing purpose...

That whole interior design looks just horrible to me so far. OMG.

I think these new C and S models will be the best they've ever been, but they're playing to a smaller, less interested audience. Truth is Mercedes needs a small, semi-affordable, true off roader and a stunning new electric car in the E-Class segment/price range. The EQC is just half assed and the EQS likely won't re-write any rules on the electric car side. The quality needs to be put back into ALL of their cars, not just the S. There is no excuse for the problems that new GLE and GLS owners are facing. Mercedes needs to get it's shit together.

What Mercedes-Benz needs is... sell more cars, now that China's economy is, for the lack of a better word, F***ed with a capital f*****g F.

"Mercedes needs to get it's shit together."

I certainly hope that Daimler-Benz can achieve this, although without a MAJOR recalibration of its' business model, I remain skeptical. Recent accolades regarding new model presentations pertain to M-B ICE automobiles that are inevitably swansongs. The electrification effort embodied by the EQC is tepid at best. And I'll agree that the EQS could be a car that may not command a resonating applaus. Impressive brand equity alone will not ensure Mercedes-Benz' longer-term market sustainability as an independent entity. Other manufacturers are moving forward at a more, in some cases far more rapid pace. Mercedes-Benz is hardly down-and-out. Quite far from it AT PRESENT. Hopefully, they've finally smelled the coffee.

The EQS will make internal competition to the mighty S class. And provided that the S class will command far bigger margins the people from Daimler easily have their favorite and will not let the EQS be better than the S - although this is an achievable task.

Mercedes-Benz continues to possess the means necessary in order to manufacture a TRULY impressive, forward-thinking, cutting-edge luxury BEV with technical credentials and a design that captivate. I like to think that the fusion of elements seen on/in the Maybach 6 concepts and the IAA 2015 concept would produce a jaw-dropping halo automobile. I'm a bit concerned regarding what may lurk under the swirly-foil of those EQS mules.

MB Passion just posted an update for you. :)

NEW GENERATION OF THE SL & C CLASS CONTINUE TO COME FROM BREMEN

The successor to the current C-Class (W 206) and the next generation of the SL Roadster (R 232) come from the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen. However, neither the C-Class nor the SL is new for production on the Weser - the “icon” of the brand has been produced on site since 1989. Relevant information was confirmed this week by the local chairman of the works council. Another EQ model may also to be produced in Bremen.

Bremen remains the lead plant for the C-Class

Last week, the works council and the site management had agreed that Bremen would remain the lead plant for the C-Class production. The “Weser Kurier” first reported on the agreement. Accordingly, all new variants of the C-Class will continue to be produced on site in the future.

SL Roadster continues to come from Bremen

In addition, there was a promise that a new model of the EQ series would definitely be built in Bremen, as well as the successor generation of the SL Roadster - the latter model was last on the brink. According to the statements of the chairman of the works council, it is always checked here whether an external service provider may build the vehicle.
