2 Series [Spy Shots] 2015 BMW 2 Series Spy Pics & Info

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
Better than ugly, like pretty much all Benzes.....particularly in the FWD crappy cars they make.

No question about it, the CLA/A class interior is an utter disgrace for MB. Absolutely horrible, from design to execution/materials.

Size, proportions and shut lines :D

This is going to be the true E46 cabrio successor and it's going to be marvellous!!! Just get rid of the 13" rims ;)

So true. They look like 13", when in fact they are (I think) 16".

I'll reserve my judgement until it will be offcially revealed. We really don't know what it will look like, at least not me, but I'm quite sure better than 1 Series (front).

Front & rear will be different than on 1er but the side body (ex the roof & greenhouse incl. the pillars) is almost a carbon copy of 1er's side, featuring same character lines incl. the "swollen hip" - the bloated rear wheel arches & lower body sides.

Yes although if you look at the side of the car the character line remains hidden under panels -see the rivets for evidence but it has the same three dimensional pronounced character line as the 1er which allows the rear haunches to swell out and look broader from behind.

The upcoming four door Gran Coupe stretches the wheelbase a few inches and also the roofline which makes it more rounder allowing for a mini-Gran Coupe appearance.

The M235i against the M135i shows up differences with the M235i featuring a more sportier aero packet than the M135i , the outlines of the outer intakes for the brakes are more angled to follow the shape of the headlights, the detailing in Ferric Grey remains but the differences continue around the side skirts and rear diffuser.

The good thing about an M Sport packet is that it gives you the preview of the M car although M retain specific elements that differ from regular M Sport Packet? You can see how this will go with minor changes on the M car.

The 2er will be the sportiest model of the F20 family , changes to the steering and suspension will make for more dynamic handling and a more communicative driving experience.

Scott, BMW used to make the sedan and coupe versions drive almost identically. According to you, that is no longer the case. So I have two questions. The first is, why the change in philosophy. The second, did they intentionally hold back on the F20 and F30 in terms of sportiness? Not saying the cars are not sporty, I mean relative to the coupe counterparts.

Yeah but with the same photocopied interior. Which is already lacking in the face of the new CLA and A3 . Even the Golf.

Not to be critical Giannis as I know you put a lot of work in but in that article the info about the nose is pure conjecture and likely not true at all. The 2 Series will clearly have a different nose to the 1 Series, but you can't say this is because of the criticism of the looks of the 1 Series. I doubt BMW would pay any attention to talk like that and it's highly likely that the 2 Series design was set in stone LONG before the 1 Series was released.

Any constructive criticism is more than welcome!
