M3/M4 [Spy Shots] 2014 BMW M3 (Impressions, SpyPhotos, Renderings)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
Only question is what type engine is under the bonnet?

If it is sad V6, then 1M is last straight six M-car and e9X last naturally aspirated M-car. Future collector cars both.

No, M235i has I6. If that is not enough M, what it indeed true, there is the M2, that is not to come soon, that could yet have I6 instead of I4.

There's an I6 under the bonnet of both M3 and M4. It was confirmed to me by a BMW test driver last summer.

^as long as its a I6 it will be a great car?

I mean to hell with everything else..just put an I6 in the damn thing, leave the wheels in the factory..

vroom!

^haha i have nothing against the I6, i hope BMW keeps with tradition of Inline engines:)

But to say that the inline engine is the only thing this car needs to be great is stretching it to far

I cannot wait for this car! The M3 defines BMW, just like the 911, S-Class and Golf do for their respective brands, and I have no doubt it will be sensational. Just reveal it already!!!:nailbiting:

- we'll see it anyway officially tomorrow, Friday, at "The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering", Carmel, Monterey, before the Pebble Beach Concours presentation on Sunday.

That's an F30 335i M-sport interior. I can tell from the side mirror, the 7k tachometer, 260km/h speedo and lack of M buttons on the steering wheel. Compare it to my 335i in this thread http://www.germancarforum.com/community/threads/bought-a-new-car-today.49213/page-2#post-648320

it's the M-DCT gear shifter and not the ZF 8 speed shifter in my M135i, plus the tricolour stitching on the wheel suggests M car. Rest of the interior will be very M sport except for better quality leather one would think.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
