M3/M4 [Spy Shots] 2014 BMW M3 (Impressions, SpyPhotos, Renderings)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
But the F30 has, just like the F80, a turbo and all that.

Lets see the engine weights:

S54: 217 kg (E46 M3, I6 NA)
S65: 202 kg (E90 M3 V8, NA)

N52: 148 kg (I6 NA)
N54: 195 kg (I6 twin turbo)

N55: (I6 single turbo) I'm not entirely sure, I believe it's like 5 kg lighter than the N54
So both N54 and N55 are lighter than S65. And if there's any kind of cutting edge lightweight material in the S55, it'll be lighter than all of them, closing in on the NA N52 (and N52's highest hp rating is 272 hp, in comparison to roughly 450 hp for the new M3)

And the bonus round, S85: 240 kg (E60 M5 V10, NA)

You can have a 1080p tv because the box says so but who really knows???
I mean, did you count the pixels??

Seriously. Better believe it if it's in the press release.

Are those numbers just the block? Or is that everything?

it´s M-Time

Hmmm. As far as sound goes there are some moments where it sounds like a proper BMW, then there are moments when it spunds like me after eating curry.

I noticed a few things in that video:

1. Turn in is precise and immediate.
2. Mid-corner speed is on Carrera S levels.
3. Power-slides are easy to control.
4. Grip is always there for this car.

Result: The car is unbelievably good! Yes, it doesn't sound that appealing!

PS: We have a winner! I can't wait!

Yeah, just imagine what a decade of racing in professional championships can do to people... I can't enjoy sh*t... as I always notice too much :)

Often yes. But you're even questioning a pretty clear source, the head of BMW M.

To demonstrate how officials from BMW get it wrong, here's
Klaus Froehlich, Senior Vice President Brand and Product Strategies BMW Group saying the M235i will have the 18" wheels and special Michelin tyres from the 1M because "t
hey offer better performance than the 19-inch versions.” The 1M had 19" wheels! And I will be amazed if the M235i has anything other than the exact same wheels as the M135i.

The journalist picked it up wrong. Some in Garching refer the M135i as the 1er M Performance model he was meaning the M135i .

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
