Sport Auto - Nordschleife laptimes

I was reading something at the back of Evo about GT3 RS wheel arch vents, which apparently double downforce, but the tyres would surely have to be rotating for that. Interested to know how that measured up in SA's tests.

Max downforce iirc was at 300kph. SA tested theirs 144kg @ 200kph.

Ok, @DeDe or @fuhro, in the Huracan supertest i posted above, the Huracan has 5/5 downforce, but on the 488 supertest, the Huracan has 20/40 downforce. Do you know when they changed it or what happened?

I think it must be a typo, the right ones are 5/5. The number of 20/40 may come from the 991 Turbo S, on which they measured these exact numbers:)

Does anyone know which page the Aventador SV Sport Auto supertest is on?

No mind found it.

"However if you pause the video at 23 seconds its clearly slick tyres."
Clearly not slick.
Tyre: Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2

Having taken a closer look, they do appear to be Cup 2 tires. You may need to look pretty hard, but the tread is where it should be for that particular tire.

Anyway, Gebhardt is setting times on par with those of factory test drivers. 7:10 is impressive by just about any measure - even the Porsche 918 cannot match that (it had set a 7:13 in its supertest, albeit with a different driver and under different conditions). I secretly wish Sport Auto had an unlimited budget, and they could supertest a McLaren P1, LaFerrari, etc. Times are tough these days. Print is dying, and my hope is that they still somehow manage to scrape together the revenue to continue these (very expensive) tests.

4C temperature and Gebhardt pulls off crazy impressive lap time with AMG GT R.

You think time is legitimate?

I am very skeptical for car under 600PS and 1600KG.

This is like the Aventador SV under 7 minutes with special tyres lap time.

For comparison AMG GT R is 20 seconds faster than stock AMG GT S, with 70PS increase, bit more downforce, better traction control, revised suspension. Highly suspect if you ask me.

^ I cant comment on the legitimacy of the video but do you think a magazine would do that? What do they gain by doing so?

Anyway you forgot it has rear wheel steer too, that would of course make it going around corners quicker. Mighty lap nonetheless.

Those are not Cup 2s at 0:23 but at 0:25 they are. But why were the slicks even there?

I can't believe it's 12s faster than a 488. And faster than SA managed with the 918 too. Something smells here, and it has 3 points.

The Aventador's time is completely legitimate and AZ proved this by running just 2s slower than the 918 did with SA.

Because there were GT-cars as well... as you can see it in the video, where it passes Gebhart.

Seriously, the nation of internet is going crazy and suspicous ON EVERYTHING these days...

So did the Nissan Skyline and most people locked it out it was that unhelpful.

So you don't see anything strange about it being 2s faster than a 918 and 12s faster than a 488?

Well the jury is out, we'll see how well it does elsewhere.

If this had been Nissan or Lamborghini, I know what people would say.
