SLK-Class (R171) Spied: Mercedes-Benz SLK glass roof

Spy photographers have spotted a prototype of a Mercedes-Benz SLK with a glass panoramic roof. Mercedes-Benz currently offers a panoramic roof option on its SL hardtop convertible, and it looks as though the SLK will soon receive the same option.

The car pictured appears to have a slightly revised trunk and, as evident by the markings, more changes could be on the way. An SL glass top convertible can also been seen in the shots, likely being used for comparison.
Mercedes-Benz just launched its all-new 2009 SLK, so look for the glass roof option to bow as a 2010 or later model-year option.

i wonder if MB has ever given any thought to a ragtop SLK. it would certainly offer this car in a much more attractive price point.

Mercedes SLK Spied Showing its New Retractable Glass Roof
Last we saw the SLK with a glass retractable roof was during winter testing earlier this year. Now the prototypes are back, this time hot weather testing in the American desert. These photos for the first time show a tiny view through the top glass roof panel, giving some perspective as to it's panoramic effect.
Judging by the black tape along the sides of the trunk lid, it's safe to say that the lid has been restyled to accommodate the new roof.
We're expecting to see this sleek retractable glass roof on SLK's for the 2010 model year.
