Just realized that it has one ugly ass steering wheel..it looks like it belongs in a normal 5er..no sportyness at all over its design..

Wow, the E63 just blows it away doesn`t it?

Going to sound like two people with stomach problems. Screaming engines are so much better and with more unique sound. Muscle cars sound havent been my favorite engine sound.

That muscle-car sound comes from a larger bore. It`s one of the reasons the M157 has bigger torque
and gets slightly less gas milage. I really didn`t think the new M5 could get 28.4 MPG in the EU cycle. The M157 is rated at
24.5 I believe. The new M5 might be rated at 17mpg city 23hwy when it comes here which is remarkable. Both these engines get good gas milage for cars having 550hp.

The 5'ers interior has much more going for it VS the E on the inside than it does on the outside, but I agree in that I still prefer the E's character, and these pics show that either BMW really suck that bad when it comes to Press pics, or that the E63's interior is truly just that much nicer.

And while we are on trivial stuff, what is the deal with the bench like seats from the 80s on the AMG? At least add some bolsters to keep you in place.

Why are the front seats on the M5 so thick,they look like a recliner chairs. While the exteriors of these cars are equally matched,the 63's looks more agressive on the inside.

How can you determine how comfortable something is by looking at it ? I've been in one and the seats are marvelous. Proper support, holds you well in place.

Did I mention anything about it being not comfortable, I am sure they are. As far as holding you is concerned, I doubt it and I don't have to sit in it to know that. These are the seats I sit in daily, they are way more bolstered than these and I still have to push against the door with my knees when really tossing the car. So if those seats held you, you either were not pushing it or were wearing pants made of Velcro or something.

Arent those AMG AND M seats active..meaning they pump up when you turn..

The active seats are not standard on E63 nor was it on E60 M5 and I doubt it will be on F10 M5 either. But at least standard seats E60 M5 was pretty aggressively bolstered. Can't say the same for the US spec E9x M3 though, they share the same seat bottoms as 335 and they suck even though they are more bolstered than these seats on the AMG. I guess the counter point is, fat asses will fit in better.

Maybe it has to do with the class of car..The C63 AMG seats are way sportier than the competitions..
But in the E they go for something more comfortable..and on the S even more so..
I think they put some research and thought into this..

Hahaha, the E class? E CLASS???
LOL, doesn't matter if it's AMG or not, the E has a horrid interior, with lot's of old school BMW touches, ugly design, cheap plastic and whatnot. We're past that now, the E is pretty much dated and ugly from the inside.
Here's hoping they completely change the interior of the E class, like they did with the C class. C class was epic fail too, but redeemed itself sort of....way too late of course, but still...

Oh yeah, and those seats int he E AMG are pretty pukeworthy too. Thanks for pointing that out Sunny!!

Oh, and one more thing: adding some BLING to the interior (E AMG) does not suddenly make it sporty or anything. LMAO. Like an ape with a golden ring. It's still an ape.

I have to agree with klier. E-Class is one of those ill-shaped MB recent interiors, and, while looking much much better than the pre-LCI W204 interior (what wouldn´t) and GLK one, it´s far worse designed than most of the recent MB products, such as the LCI W04, the ML, and eons away of the new CLS.

Regarding the seats, I have to say I´m with Sunny. AMG has some fantastic seats for the C63 and the SLS, don´t know why they don´t use them for the E63 and CLS63:

PS: I think AMG should redesign the front treatment of the E63 and give it a more rounded look, as the CL63 and CLS63, which have the nicest AMG front ends currently.

I think I'm one of the very few people that's driven an E63 around a circuit here... I can't criticise the seats for what they are (supportive, moderately more sporting items as appropriate in a luxury car) nor can I say that the interior is anywhere near as horrid as some people are claiming here. In fact, quite the opposite: it's pure MB solidity and back-to-business quality. Sheesh, internal combustion...
