Yup. My neighbour recently replaced a 3 year old Audi A5 Cab with a 2003 CLK with grey interior. I have driven the Merc and on the inside it feels like a luxury rather than a premium car.
Why did he replace a 3-year old car for a 20-year old one?

It's a she. She's a car person and like cool cars over new and shiny ones. She's one of us, a car person with taste. Why did he replace a 3-year old car for a 20-year old one?
Sorry to continue going slightly off-topic, but huh?! Clk interior was cheap af, I would never consider it 'luxury'.Yup. What is this trim material? Fibre glass? Don't think I've seen it before.

Yes, both are the "Mopf" versions, so 211 with 2006... and 218 with 2014...I'm no Benz connoisseur, but I'm sure that's the interior of the updated C218 CLS, no?
I wouldn’t say that.Well-designed interiors with two screens are still possible: the new Peugeot 508.

Right? I have very dry eyes and constantly staring at those screens and ambient lighting will not be comfortable. Tech for tech’s sakeSaab had that right with their "black panel" function way back in the day.

Today looking at the photos of FL 408 I came across those same ones from the interior and I was about to post them, it is an excellent interior, simply very good, a delight to sit behind that wheelWell-designed interiors with two screens are still possible: the new Peugeot 508.

I think that's a compliment since Audi interiors are among the most well made in the industry. For me, when it comes to a sedan from the executive segment, good execution takes priority over an unresolved and/or underdeveloped (if more original) idea. Even though screens have been present inside car interiors for nearly two decades and I don't see how adding a third screen adds 'originality.'I wouldn’t say that.
To me it’s an Audi interior from about 5 years ago.
These vents are alrady an eyesore nowadays also.

Moreover, I think there is value in tradition and familiarity when it comes to brands whose entire image is based on that very premise—and I like my E-Class, like my 5ers, familiar and well executed—and not in competition with something like a Tesla. I still remember what I felt when I first sat in my uncle's W124 500E way back when: there was nothing as solid and well made out there.
