Disagree, but that's OK. What I've gathered here is that you cannot elaborate on what quantifies as "advancements" and things that you have decided as not substantial are just "marketing", despite providing no criteria for what is a fundamental change. Calling it marketing is a bit of a joke anyways as manufacturers most prominently talk about new "generations" and leave the platform talk for the car nerds and journalists. I'll leave this topic alone now, back to the W214 for me :).

Yeah agree to disagree, you haven't "elaborated" on anything either that isn't said by anyone here already. Partially marketing yes, not fundamental change from what was previous on offer, you haven't provided this either.

Looks like all of the MRA II goodies will be present in the next E-class: rear wheel steering, increased wheelbase and track, new electrical architecture, PHEV with higher capacity batteries, and rear wheel steering.

Unfortunately from what I understand there will be no V8s, just I4s and I6s available. The "63" model will be using the AMG P1 hybrid powertrain coupled with the I4 like the C63. A bit of a shame.

The Hybrids with better range will be big share of the market by the time this car is launched so that a good move..

E63 with a 4 cylinder that’s a bit toomuch I can just about take the C with that motor but the E needs atleast a 6 cylinder oh well

OMG stick of fork in the E-Class too if there are no V8s. You aren't going to develop a true AMG version of the I6 with 500hp to make a E55 or something like that then forget the E-Class too. You'll have to settle for a E450 or a E53. I would imagine the same fate for the "CLE" also. Mercedes is going to go down hill very fast once all these neutered cars arrive.

If this is true, AMG might as well scrap the next E63.
A 4-pot E63 would be bumping heads with its little brother. What would be the point?

I just mentioned this change earlier in this thread. The C63 and E63 share the 4.0L TTV8 currently so this really isn't much different. I would expect AMG to tune the cars differently as needed to create some space between the two.

In any event, will be interesting to see how this performs alongside the upcoming EQE 63.

Will their be a EQE 63 ?? Or just a 53 like the EQS 53

Yes, my post was actually in response to yours.
The current C63 and E63 might share the same engine but the power gap is large. The E63 also has 4-Matic plus, a different soundtrack
and a few other features that separate it from the C63.

If Mercedes AMG truly does make the switch to the 4-Cylinder unit for the next E63, a lot of current owners are not going to be happy for a trade-up.
The V8 is the heart and soul of the E.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Logically speaking I don’t think MB would make the E63 worse performing than the C63, so we’ll see what strategy they’ll employ to keep some room between the two. I agree on the V8 being a point of contention, I guess their product planners are feeling especially confident. I’m still secretly hoping we get some preferential treatment in the US like we did for the SL.

Daimler should have something in their sleeves, especially if BMW puts the 750 hp hybrid V8 from the XM in the next M5.

E.g. the AMG GT 63 E PERFORMANCE with 843 hp? Who needs the E 63 then? The market split is already clear: the best sedan = M5, the best station wagon = RS6, the best 4door performance = GT 63, the best allrounder = Panamera.

The GT 4 door will disappear without a successor. A sportier E63 possible.

Since its' official sales start, I don't think that I've seen more than a handful, at most, X290s' on the roads, in traffic, etc. Did the X290 manage to sell in relatively larger numbers elsewhere ? It's demise will go largely unnoticed, I suppose.

Pelt me with raw potatoes if you will, but I actually find the EQS more attractive.

The V8 will continue to be used in the E63.

That's fantastic news in the face of the M5. This AMG gossip is hard to decipher as I have no contacts directly in AMG. Is there a world where the standard E63 is the hybrid I4 and then there's a E63 E Performance model with the V8?

An ICE successor, that is.
