3 Series (G50) [Renders] Next generation BMW 3-series.

The eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G50 (sedan version) and BMW G51 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') compact executive cars. It is to be unveiled and launched in 2026, with the next-generation M3 set to launch the year after. It will feature a new, minimalist design inspired by BMW's Vision Neue Klasse concept, and will be offered with both internal combustion and purely electric powertrains, though on different platforms.
Agreed. May be ND might be referring to the flagship vehicles like i7. While NC is standing for a mid size executive vehicles like i5. But not so sure about the NB products.

Right, that could be. But NA will be the 3er which would mean no electric car below that which I find hard to believe.

I still find it surprissing that BMW has so many CLAR cars coming.

The world is not yet ready for full BEV obviously. Not even the most high tech western countries are.

Well it has been decided then LOL speaking about the devil

Quite the bombshell

Nope, but that does not seem to bother our regulators, who seem to be decided to ban ICE cars in 10 years.

I guess it is simply surprissing that a premium brand is going to launch a 4-5 models with combustion engines that could very well last until past 2035, when its direct competition is not expected to launch any new ICE starting in a couple of years.

It's not going to be that.
Either BEV only or ICE only. And they haven't decided yet.

The B58 is just fine for non M models. I don't see why this would be needed at all.

That front end is just based on the grille they've been showing for at least a year, and for the rest everything is COMPLETELY off, as we can expect from a crappy artist like Avarvarri because he is always dead wrong.
it was decided. M3 is BEV on Neue Klasse.

Some CLAR BMW models are scheduled even past 2035. Again, so many things can happen until then. Impossible to predict them 12 years ahead of time.

Obviously, N is from the Neue Klasse. The letters A, B, C, ... group models by classes, but it doesn't necessarily mean that class B is larger than class A, so this is probably based on some of their internal nomenclature. So, all models under A are from the 3 Series class, B models are from the 1 and 2 Series class, and so on.
NAx:
NA0 - i3
NA1 - i3 touring
NA2 - i4 coupe
NA3 - i4 cabrio
NA5 - iX3
NA7 - iX4

NBx:
NB0 -i1
NB8 -i2
NB5 -iX1
Also under B, there will be iX2

NCx:
i5, i5 touring, iX5, iX6, and maybe some other models....

NDx:
ND0 - i7
and likely i8, iX7, iX8(iXM)

These are my guesses, based on data from @ynguldyn posts on bimmerpost.com forum.

Everyone keeps referencing that thread. While he provides good info, it's all based on data sources, not human. And it's always unclear which one will still come, which one is canceled, etc...He even says that in various posts. So always assume that things change, especially since any project can still be changed, canned within 18 months before production. Overall, good info, but will small caveats.

Which could mean two new generations, maybe without a facelift this time. And 2035 is 12 years ;)

I suppose the keyword here would be the 'new' part. They'll be new alright, but based on an old platform and with no new engines so really not actually new but thoroughly updated. I have no doubt MB will be doing the exact same thing.

Which one? The Neue Klasse one or the CLAR? The NA one is not ready. Design has not been frozen. It's still 3 years away.

So how much time will there then be between the ICE 3er and BEV 3er? Because I don't think the CLAR 3er is still 3 years off? This is all so confusing lol

From what I know, around the same time. Some cars are getting extended lifecycles which is normal in order to align with everything.

I wonder how they will possibly align the design of a BEV and ICE 3er. Seems impossible to mimic the NK design language on a CLAR platform.

it was decided. M3 is BEV on Neue Klasse.

Yeah saw that in @Titot_Totti's post

But surely there will be a next gen S58 CLAR M3 too if they continue with the CLAR platform.... They could do both and avoid the gigantic C63 hybrid debacle. BMW will have its own debacle with the upcoming M5, but at least that one won't suffer from a 4-pot. Thank the lord the M3 is saved from this hybrid nonsense at least.

For the G50 3er, I think it would be a great opportunity for BMW to adopt some conservative-retro styling cues from the older generations of 3er such as the E36 with a couple of Neue Klasse tweaks here and there.

They don't have to fit all this hybrid nonsense on the G50 so they have carte blanche for one last stunning ICE sedan.

One of the biggest perks of the future G50 is a fact that it does not need to be in a compromised situation where it has to serve the combustion, hybrid and electric drivetrains in all one platform since the NA0 i3 will have a full electric role. This means the 4er+i4, 5er+i5 and 7er+i7 design chaos will likely to be disappeared from the next 3er+i3.

@bmwblog is saying in his website that the design of both 3ers won’t be identical.

Since the NK brings an entirely new design language for BMW, maybe it would be nice if the G50 was more traditional. Let’s stop with the whole giant kidneys nonsense. Let’s try to design the last ICE 3er staying true to its roots.

It won’t happen, but it would be nice.

I don't think the platform is any different than current CLAR. At least I haven't heard otherwise.
