3 Series (G50) [Renders] Next generation BMW 3-series.

The eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G50 (sedan version, ICE), BMW G51 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring'), and BMW G58 (long-wheelbase saloon) compact executive cars. It is to be unveiled and launched in 2026, with the next-generation M3 set to launch the year after. It will feature a new, minimalist design inspired by BMW's Vision Neue Klasse concept, and will be offered with both internal combustion and purely electric powertrains, though on different platforms. It replaces the G20 3 Series. Production: 2026 (to commence). Model years: 2027.
That render looks just great. But I'm not expecting the next 3er to look like that. Hopefully when the first mules appear it will al become more clear.

Btw, this thread makes me feel old. When I joined the forum, we were discussing the E90 LCI spy pics. Time certainly flies.

Certainly interesting if not accurate.

Good render, that's where the idea goes, although I estimate it will have more of the Dee in terms of the roof line and general shapes, C-pillar, etc. but this (more to the 7 series), wouldn't be bad either

Not sporty enough for a 3er. The actual car is what, 2 years away from launch or reveal? Where are the test mules

@bmwblog Do you indicate there that a concept will be seen as soon as in June? I mean right now just around the corner...
Are you referring to the Dee more in production format?, the XDee (announced for IAA), or is it something else that hints at future design?

A concept will be presented in june as a pre-ifs évent but not public … for the press ? And investors ?

The G50-traditional 3er's update from ynguldyn:

"Potential G50 lineup: worldwide 318, 320, 330, 330e, M350 xDrive; US 330, 330 xDrive, M350 xDrive. Current production plans 11/26-10/34. Note that this overlaps with the production dates of G20, which means one of them is incorrect and will be adjusted (over 3 years until then, plenty of time for changes). Diesel models should show up later - or maybe not at all?"

P.S.: I am so glad and relief that there is going to be the M340i's successor/replacement in form of the M350 where the B58 is still there for another generation. Plus, since the future 3 Series is going to be built onto two separate platforms: G50 and NA0. It makes me think about the design and proportion by seeing both 3er and i3 are going to receive a proper combustion (G50) and electric (NA0) treatments instead of mixing everything together like what they did with the current G26, G60, G70 and U11.

I REALLY hope they keep the traditional proportions for the G50.

Please bring the G51 to the US too BMW!

Agreed. Hopefully, this is a positive sign for BMW because at the end of the day, 3er is honestly a bread and butter which is a huge risk when they decided to mess up with the entire design/aesthetic. Therefore, by being created into two different (dedicated) platforms, the conventional 3er will not be suffering from the raised sedan body and underneath (fat) belly. While the fully electric i3 will likely to have a low hood unlike the latest i5 and i7 where their hoods are so tall since they are being built and revolved around their combustion+hybrid siblings.
