Based on the latest spy pics, I'd say the X1 mk3 is going to have a very similar front end to the G60 5er.

The outline on that render has something akin to the E12 or E28 for that matter. However as an M they forgot the Horizontal bars now being implemented on M cars as they move to further distinguish M models from M Performance and standard models.

As this M2 and X5M testify to.

The actual prototype shows higher placed rear light units. As the render illustrates. It remains to be seen if they introduce a light bar to The 5?
The 5 might be a rare bird. With Electric,assisted and ICE options compared to its key rivals promising Electric only.

That render does look good, but it doesn't say BMW to me.

Renderings presented by Autocar are generally woefully inaccurate. Moreso perhaps than other automotive publications. In general, the quality of accuracy regarding renderings has been on a downwards slope for several years. I can recall when Autobilds' Huckfeldt often got it quite right. Those days appear to be gone.

Avarvarii renderings hardly guaranty accuracy, but the fellow is a good illustrator nonetheless. This particular creation is quite striking methinks.

It's a very good render. I can see some elements from the prototype here. But when looking at how they have disguised the rear, it is highly probable there will be a light bar across the trunk lid.
It always seems we have to turn to the amateurs who do this as a hobby to get it right and provide a semblance of reality compared to the professionals that don't yet do this for a living.
