3 Series (G20/G21/G28) [Renders] BMW 3 Series (G20) Rendered

The seventh generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G20 (sedan version) and BMW G21 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring'), and BMW G28 (long-wheelbase version/BEV i3) compact executive cars. The G20/G21 has been in production since mid-October 2018 with a facelift in July 2022 and is often collectively referred to as the G20. Production: October 2018 - Model years: 2019–2026. Successor: G50 3 Series.
Lexus Has an "L" in the taillights which represent the "L" in Lexus... Why is BMW flattering Lexus here?

Try it the other way around. Why do 1980's BMWs have L shaped tail lights long before Lexus was a twinkle in Toyotas eye.

The design of the car does not fully convince me. My impression is that lately BMW is not very good at translating design proposals into series production cars ... they often end up looking diluted.

Fewer and fewer

It doesn't bother me one bit. I like the LC and the 3-Series.

Really like it! Maybe a bit to many lines in the front.
And personally I am not a fan of the design of the fully digital instrument cluster. I like the "old school" design, hopefully the fully figital will not be included as soon as you start to add packages to your 3er. And them being fully digital is not the biggest issue but counter clockwise is not my cup of tea.
That being said on the instrument cluster I think the majority will want it fully digital with computer game... sorry... modern design.

Given that the day the E90 was unveiled still comes back as a nightmare, I'd say this is a good next generation 3er. It looks pleasantly familiar, certainly softer, yet with bolder details.

I'm not a fan of this approach - to soften the general shape and try to keep it interesting with bold, shouty details.

The interior is fine, the F30's interior was fine as well, though. Cost-cutting is evident here and there, as are some nice new details. Nothing to celebrate.

I'm satisfied with what I see, but it's not something that will keep me awake at night with desire to get it.

Either I'm getting old and hard to please, or this one is just 'fine'.

It looks good and is typically BMW in its proportions and styling details, but somehow I was expecting more. It is not as desirable or drop dead gorgeous like some previous 3-series models were. Its not a beautiful 3-series like the E46 and I feel BMW have overdone the design of the front bumper and front lights in the M-sport version to make them overly aggressive. IF the M-sport has huge intakes like this then what is the front bumper on the M3 going to look like? The tail lights scream Lexus and also have the same shape as some Audi models, its not original and doesnt seem BMW in my opinion. The Z4 and 8-series tail lights look way better.

Interior is fantastic, finally the look and the quality impression are more than a match for the A4 and C-class interiors, indeed it makes both of them suddenly look dated. Its a major improvement over the F30 and the seats with their sumptuous padded leather look super comfortable and supportive. It looks alot more upmarket than any previous 3-series interior.

And I doubt a BMW fansite knows what happening internally. No disrespect at all, but we'll see what happens.

Now, where is my gearshifter BMW? What is going on?
What's a fan site? Cause IMHO, we do real journalism. Which means verified stories. Sources. Connections.

You'll be surprised how much we actually know and that has been proven countless of times. When we make a powerful statement, believe that it has been verified a few times before.

I wanna believe that in 12 years of doing this, we've got some sort of access and insider info.

Been saying no EV on G20 for months and literally no one believes that. Either here, other forums, Facebook, other magazines. So no gloating, but it would be cool when the day comes and no full G20 EV

Had the front been cleaner in appearance then the it would have looked like a facelift. The G30 for example is an attractive car but it's cautiously evolutionary to the point that, from a distance, you don't know whether you are looking at an F10 or G30.

I do agree that the Z4 tail lights with thinner strip for the reversing lights look better.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. As mentioned earlier the G20 doesn't have inlays on the doors. The entire transmission tunnel and door bins remains black plastic even if you choose cream or cognac upholstery. This is not the case in the C-Class where both areas match the colour of the upholstery.

Either way it's too early to judge interior quality.

The rear screams lexus to me. The Lights are a mix between an IS and GS. Looks like they really upped the quality on the interior. Materials look very nice. Design will have to see in person. Headlights look a little big for my taste and still getting used to the joined Kidneys.

Yes, the previous models always had an L-shape which is a BMW design, but in this case the light bar within the taillight assembly is L-shaped, like in Lexus.

Just wait until it’s revealed. The car is a true winner and I’m not a BMW fan. Objectively, imho, the biggest step up from a previous gen 3 series. Many 7 and 8 series features as you already saw from the congiuratore pictures if you look closely. Add to that, that even the Sport line look very progressive, with a touch of i and you have my pic of the segment by far: MB, Audi, Volvo.

P.S. the Model III is already outclassed by those cars for anybody but the electric car fanatic. The 3 buries it.

Nice move BMW!. The rear has some Audi and Lexus mixed in yet I can get used to it being a BMW and it does fit in with older BMW rear lights.
I'd get that new 3series without thinking twice.

You mean metallicized plastic

Not bad, but nothing exciting.

-For the first time we have put silver painted plastics in the doors.
-The exterior is made from automotive grade stainless steel and aluminum.
-iDrive 7 is so easy to use it will lower your heart rate and prolong your life.
-It's the best 3-Series we have ever made.
-Pre-orders start Friday the 7th of October from $29,999.

Thank you all for coming.
