Based on the leaks, it looks extremely lean, 5% bodyfat, with sharp lines and acute angles, a severe gaze, cleaner and more martial even than the E60, i.e. very different from the feline E39, F10 and G30, perhaps in order to compensate for the extra vertical bulk. As we've seen from the test prototypes though, the swoopy roof to trunk transition with streamlined E12 style rear end, as well as the curvy (albeit sharp) lateral lines, give it a softer, fastback, pebble shape than its more classical three-box sedan predecessors, which will for sure compensate for the austere surfacing. We'll have to wait and see how it catches the light in proper conditions, but if I had to choose now I might be going for the E-Class's perfect proportions, low-slung silhouette and sensual surfacing.

I'm sticking with the dated but attractive C8 A6, with it's very upright roofline and flat trunk, and sharply accentuated fenders, feels the most sportiest.

Perfect.

Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.

Traditional M sport bumper, purposeful grille, E60 modernized headlights. Loving the taller bonnet and bigger profile. I’m wondering if the size difference will be significant in comparison to the E, and with the I7 compared to the S class

Precisely what I had in mind. X1 headlights with normal grille and clean G20 LCI M-Sport bumper.

Considering the opinion splitting looks of the i7 and XM, the G60 will be the most best “normal” looking BMW that we could have hoped for.

Additional G60 models from July 2024 (ynguldyn):

"Adding worldwide 540d xDrive (same engine as 740dx) and US M560e xDrive (B58M2+EM, 565hp)."

This makes me wonder if the M560e xDrive will not be available worldwide (including it's home country: Germany and the rest of European markets) unlike the i5 M60 xDrive?

You know what, ladies and gentlemen, this 5er limousine is going to look so hot, I’d even take my eyes of Maria Sharapova if it drove by. The new 5er, the new E, we’re enjoying the good times.
Bmw 5er...yes without even seeing it! New E. Maybe for merc fans. The E is just a S bar the front - sorry - shouldn't be like that. E belongs to business class and should look like it as well...if people want a E to look like an S, then it quite sad

Off topic @leylandi . I think Merc stopped making proper louvre grilles when the W212 facelift was introduced.... This E looks ok in Sport trim....still not sure of the strange lights and S body is a big no no. That front is C class like from that angle - where is the horizontal width in that front!? What have the designers done lol. Anyway, back to The 5 please!
