Love the side profile of the Avant. Really hope it comes to the US, looks like it won't be coming at launch but I still think it'll be sold here.

The RS with flared wheel arches will be hot as f***

Thus far, lots to like. Not blown away but not underwhelmed either. Passenger-side additional screen (surely an optional extra) is way too much and negatively impacts the dashboard aesthetic. Love the silhouette of both models and the straight belt line and rear pillar intersection is smart and attractive. Not too sure about the triangular side intakes in the front bumper - particularly in faux metallic trim.

I hope they show the standard dash tomorrow (no passenger screen).
Not a huge fan of the steering wheel options.
According to ARS US deliveries will start spring/summer next year and the RS is two years away from now. Seems like the standard car and the RS will be just 1 year apart this time around so it might be worth waiting. I really hate "performance" hybrids though. We already know it will look mega but the S5 might be the way to go this time around.
Certainly looking forward to seeing more wheel and color options.

Yup, going to echo general consensus here....
exterior: handsome but will likely get long in the tooth fairly quickly
interior: disappointing.

It’s going to be tough to choose amongst either of these three. From a design perspective all three of them are gorgeous. the C misses out due to the decision of having only 4 cyl motors in the range. The 3 being the oldest is still achingly beautiful.. probably the best 3 series since the E36.

interior wise, I love all three, but am a little partial to the C ONLY because of a dedicated instrument cluster screen that looks purposeful and very sporty.

I’ve never heard a 3-series be described as “aching beautiful” before. To each their own lol. I do think it’s a relatively well proportioned, conservative design.

Exterior looks brilliant, interior - not so much... but the thing that worries me / gets me thinking is the picture that shows S5 drivetrain.... and it says "quattro ultra"

The S5 now comes with the DCT and they had to beef it up for the extra torque but it'd be interesting to hear what other drivetrain changes they made to name it Quattro Ultra.
Maybe there's going to be a "drift mode" similar to the one found in the S3 and A45 AMG.

A few hours to go! Can't wait!

So it is possible for a german car manufacturer to design something that just looks good in 2024? Who would have thought...

It’s a good looking car on the outside (trim-dependent) but the design of the dash isn’t working for me.
For a car that’s nearly six years younger than the G20 it only appears as on par rather than having taken the lead.

Very handsome evolutionary step forward in the design. I personally think the A5 Avant looks fantastic, with the front black intake looking a lot better than the silver trim on the A5 Sportback. Avant has a very nice profile with the slight sloping rear window. A very handsome looking wagon, Sportback doesn't look muscular enough but is sleek and sporty in its own way.

The interior design is typically Audi, again looking like its built well, but at same time, looking a little clinical and industrial without any nice special design flair. The screens dominating the upper dash, including in my opinion a useless passenger screen that will spoil the look of the dash on the passenger side.

These images display that Audi exterior designers chose to "play it safe" IMHO. Much exemplifies the sort of Audi "trademark" exterior design that has its origins in the Wolfgang Egger era. In the B10, one can see a "refreshment", a very clear evolution. Nothing that can really evoke a resounding "WOW !!", but much that can appeal to brand aficionados as well as perhaps a good number of others as well. The B10 certainly does not "date" its older German competitiors. Nor does it excessively date its B9 predecessor. Solid, typically Audi designcraft. Again, I'm hoping that Audis design team got it relatively right with the soon to be revealed production A6 etrons. Ideally (or not), they should be a clear indication of where Audi design will be heading in the next 5+ some years. Far moreso than the Q6 etron.

Clean your ears next time in the shower. You will hear more.

And that interior of the Audi....my Lord that's a deal breaker. Absolutely disgusting.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
