EQE 350+ initially only as EDITION 1 model

Due to a battery bottleneck, only two engines will initially be offered for the EQE model at the start of sales, especially since the EQE 350+ model will not yet be available as a built-to-order variant at the basic price of 70,626.50 euros at the start of sales , but initially as a " Build-to-stock vehicle, ie as a stock vehicle as an EDITION 1 variant. Eligibility requirements:

The net list price of the EQE 350+ is below the funding limit of €65,000 and meets the requirements for funding for the environmental bonus with an innovation bonus of €7,500. The subsidy is subject to BAFA including it on the list of eligible vehicles. The Mercedes-AMG 43 4MATIC exceeds the maximum net list price of €65,000 and is therefore not eligible.

In the case of company car taxation, both the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ and the Mercedes-AMG 43 4MATIC are entitled to a halving of the assessment basis of 0.5%. The assessment basis for this is the gross list price of the individually equipped vehicle including special equipment. However, since the gross price for both models is over 60,000 euros, it is quartered to 0.25%.

So they going to sell the initial models fully loaded...milk the chip shortage and increase the profits. Will only work for a month or two and if people are desperate.

Not exactly. They use a trick, with which the car is eligible for the 7500 EURO government grant, although the car is much more expensive than the limit. This is as fake as the WLTP range of EVs but obviously it is allowed.

Its strange that on the Mercedes German site the price of the EQE 350+ is 67.651,50 Euros (included the environmental bonus)

Only 2 models available the EQE 43 is 103827.50 Euros compared to the 106,487 Euros for the Porsche Taycan 4S (435PS with 530PS overboost, 0-100km/h in 4.0sec, 0-200km/h in 13.3sec, 250km/h)

Frankly, it seriously puzzles me how anyone could possibly even remotely consider an AMG EQE 43 4matic when a Taycan 4S can be had for a relatively moderate surcharge. Save perhaps the bonus of a bit more interior space, what could argue favouring the EQE ?

Better comfort and more generous standard equipment?

Perhaps the EQE projected production numbers for the next 24 months are so low that they can charge whatever they want and there will be buyers for the low number of cars they are able to build.

Then if production can be ramped up later and there isn’t sufficient demand, they can always introduce new trim levels with options packages included in the purchase price to make the car cheaper

Better comfort and more generous standard equipment?

Should those be key requirements, I suspect that potential EQE buyers would flock towards the more pedestrian versions-which would then be considerably more "reasonably" priced than the AMG 43 4matic version. I think that the EQE 350 may capture a good number of sales.

As far as comfort goes...I've never driven or been a passenger in a non-stationary Taycan. But I have been a passenger in its' "sister" car, an Audi RS etron GT. It struck me as being quite the refined ride.

A standard screen interior with some open pore brown wood trim, light grey Artico with upper brown contrasting 2 tone. Looks really nice in this setup.

It's really not THAT bad in these images. Certainly not offensively ugly...

It may be a bit of consolation for die-hard M-B fans that the first images of a prime competitor, the Audi A6 etron Sportback in swirly-foiled, production-bodied test car form, indicate something that may not be as gobsmackingly stunning as many may have anticipated. Obviously, the jury will remain out for a while before we can be more certain.

I don't think the Hyperscreen is worth an extra 8500 euro.
I agree with you, it is overkill and is way too expensive. The standard screens are good enough in my opinion and you can get some lovely wood or other trim in place of the hyperscreen and save the large chunk of money.

Anyone got any information on the price of the EQE 300? How much cheaper are we thinking it would be compared to the EQE 350?

Been playing around with the German configurator. It doesn’t seem to allow the combination of Electric Art exterior and Night Pack. According to the price list I’ve got, it should be a permissible combination, but the configurator forces AMG exterior if you want the night pack. Any idea what’s going on?
