I think that the term plaid is used from the movie Spaceballs when the villains exercise a mimic on Star Wars Light Speed called Ludicrous Speed.

From the interior pictures and videos it looks like it has the same shitty plastics on the lower doors cards, glovebox lid and transmission tunnel as the new C. Imagine that...on an offering priced above the E. SHAME ON YOU Mercedes. The interior experience does not end below your nipples.

I’m thinking there will not be a 4Matic non-AMG version at all. Since the 43 AMG and the 350 use the same battery, then if Mercedes were to make an AWD car, it would still need 2 motors like the AMG. Then if the battery is the same, cost to build is also the same. But as a non-AMG they would have to sell it cheaper. Therefore less profit and does not make sense

I just saw that part of the movie last week and I thought to myself that Elon could most likely have been inspired by that for the name.

Bremen plant: EQE ramp-up in full swing
A few days ago, Mercedes-AMG presented the 476 hp EQE 43 AMG 4matic and EQE 53 AMG 4matic+ (626 hp and 687 hp with AMG Dynamic Plus package).
The EQE 43 4matic AMG has already been homologated (range 462 to 533 km).

The order release for the AMG EQE 43 AMG will take place at the beginning of March 2022. Deliveries will start in April 2022.

For the EQE 350+, an order release from the end of February 2022 has so far been communicated. Under certain circumstances, the order release for the EQE 350+ will also be postponed to the beginning of March 2022, so that both variants can then be ordered at the same time.

Mercedes EQE 5cm wider than the E class
According to Mercedes-Benz, the aerodynamics will also be extremely good, but due to the more compact dimensions compared to the EQS, the cd value will not reach the world record of 0.20. This is mainly due to the shorter wheelbase and the smaller overhang at the rear.

A small part is compensated for the front face. Because the EQE is not 1.96m wide. Mercedes-Benz has so far only communicated the width with folded mirrors. It is really 1.96 m, since the mirrors protrude beyond the outer points (door handles) when folded.

The dimension without mirror is significantly narrower at 1.906 m. This means that the EQE is no longer 10cm wider than an E-Class (1.852m), but only 5cm.
mercedes-eqe-breite.webp

Due to the smaller width compared to the EQS and the 295 significantly wider tires, the AMG EQE variants can only steer with a maximum of 3.6 degrees on the rear axle. With 9 degrees, the EQS 53 AMG comes close to the maximum 10 degrees of the standard variants.

The EQE 350+ comes optionally with a maximum of 10 degrees of rear axle steering for a turning circle of just 10.7m.

The EQE 53 AMG 4maitc+ (deliveries) and the optional 22 KW on-board charger will follow in the summer.

On the other hand, there will be no smaller version than the EQE 350+.

A rumored EQE 250 or EQE 300 with a 72 kWh battery (8 modules instead of 10 battery modules) actually makes little sense, since the battery voltage would then drop further. While the 12 module battery with 400 V already reduced to 330 volts with the 90.56 battery with 10 modules, the battery voltage with the same modules with 8 modules would drop to 264 volts. The charging power would drop to just 132 kW at a maximum of 500A on the HPC fast chargers. Such a battery variant was clearly denied at the IAA.

In the current situation, however, you will be able to use the production capacity even with an EQE 350+ without any problems.

It might look roomier but it's not very comfy to have your heels on the same level as you balls.
Lol It will be easier to let out a few farts on the back seat of the EQE as you sitting in a squating position all time, but could also land up with a painful coccyx so it will be a very uncomfortable fart.

Otherwise I like the interior, it looks modern and luxurious, although I still not sure about the black shiny plastic on the doors and the new seat controls.

I'm really trying to be fair and tolerant. But man, the exterior of the EQE sedan looks like shit. I was hoping that the smaller footprint would bring visual advantages in direct comparison with the EQS sedan. But no, not an improvement at all. Quite the opposite actually.

Still no news about the pricing of the EQE and we're alread into March? I wonder if it's delayed because of the situation in Ukraine? In a way it would be in bad taste to launch an opulent luxury car when people are dying.

I wonder if it's delayed because of the situation in Ukraine?

Significant supply chain disruptions for all German manufacturers. In addition, it has become nearly impossible to accurately estimate the effects that the war in Ukraine will have on consumer confidence and consumers' expendable incomes-and hence the effect on EU economies, capital markets. member state fiscal and ECB monetary policies. I can only suspect that a previously planned purchase/leasing of a new automobile has been relegated to an ever more distant back-burner.

Definitely true. Many will definitely want to see this one out before committing to such a large purchase. Who knows what the world will even look like in a month or two. The last thing you want now is a considerable finance and having to keep up with the payments

Mercedes EQE order release on March 15, 2022

Subject to any delays, the order release for the electric business sedan EQE (V295) will be on March 15, 2022.

The order release will take place on March 15, 2022 for the following two models:
  • EQE 350+ (292 hp, 530 NM, 5.9s to 100 km/h, Vmax 210 km/h) and
  • EQE 43 AMG 4matic (476 PS, 858 NM, 4.2s to 100 km/h, Vmax 210 km/h)
Delivery of the two models is scheduled to start in April 2022.

The battery is guaranteed for 10 years or 250,000 km.
The range of the EQE 350+ will be around up to 651 km. Depending on the equipment, the spread of the range will be between 554 and 651 km.
Only with the optional 22 KW on-board charger (available from summer 2022) will the range increase to around 660 km. This seems strange at first glance, since the battery has a capacity of 90.56 kWh in both cases. The difference results from complicated certification regulations according to WLTP. In everyday life, the range will be more or less identical.

Depending on the selected equipment, the EQE 43 AMG 4matic has a range of 462 to 533 km.
At the world premiere at the IAA 2021, the EQE 350+ was still called EQE 350
Orders for the EQE 53 4matic+ AMG will be released later. Deliveries of the top model will begin in summer 2022.
The trunk volume is 430 lire.
The turning circle can be reduced to 10.7m with the optional 10 degree rear axle steering.
The MBUX Hyperscreen will initially only be available for the AMG versions.

The Mercedes EQE interior is very pleasing even without MBUX Hyperscreen

EQE with higher steel content
Due to the fact that the EQE rolls off the assembly line in Bremen and Beijing with the C-Class, the body shell of the EQE has a different mix of materials than the EQS. With the EQE, the proportion of aluminum is lower. This is related to the body shop tools of the C-Class assembly line.
Thus, the EQE weight is not much less than the 26cm longer EQS. The basic EQE weighs 2,355 kg. The EQS 350 weighs 2,390 kg, practically the same. That's very unusual.

The price level is not yet known. Will it be based on the E-Class (EUR 63,000) or more on the CLS (EUR 70,000) - that's the big question.

The width of the EQE is around 5cm over the E-Class (W213)

I don't get it. So do AMG EQE's have 3.6 or 9 degrees of rws?
