Yes that front definitely screams Ford Mustang. At least based on what I can see at this point. Will likely be a nice car though. I kind of wish the rear section was flat instead of sloping downward.I get some Mustang vibes when looking at the front of this car...

I like the SL. For me from an aesthetic stand point no comparison."Think away" the R232s' camofoil.

Difficult choice ?
Envy to those who can afford to own both.

When it comes to open-top motoring, I'd want something I could cruise in that has a firm yet compliant ride. Tough choice indeed, so I think logic would dictate that the SL has the edge."Think away" the R232s' camofoil.

Nope.Difficult choice ?
Nope.
The prices I quoted were for Finland but they were not starting prices, but rather the spec that I would pick for myself including optional extras. Still, I made the cars as equal as possible in terms of spec and the difference came to €24k.Where are you?
Here is Holland for reference:
i4 M50: from 73k
M440i GC: from 86k
The gap will indeed quickly widen.
On the contrary Jimmy - I have no problem with convertible (proper open top Porkers, 911 included - it's the Targa that I pass up on.I know that you prefer your 911s' "straight", Martin. Fixed-roof, light as possible, stirred but not shaken. No open-topped Porky Porkers for you.
Nice, having driven them, how would describe the ride quality given that AMG was leading this car's development? Is it closer to the AMG GT or, say, the recently discontinued S Cabriolet?Having driven both the SL55 and the SL63 this week as well as seeing it completely unmasked.. it is undoubtedly a beautiful vehicle. Proportions are spot on. The seats are hands down the most comfortable seats in any sports car to date. This will do extremely well....and with it being 4matic+ as standard....will make for a fun drive in all conditions. An emotional car for an emotional time...they nailed it.
The ride is a lovechild of the GT coupe and the S63 Cabriolet. The best of both worlds. The variance between Comfort and Sport+ modes is vast. 2 cars in one. Can be a daily driver with no issue or complaint.Nice, having driven them, how would describe the ride quality given that AMG was leading this car's development?
