Sounds good......until the new AMG GT steals the lime light.
Long as it's more hard core and coupe only, it shouldn't be an issue.

It will be interesting to see how pricing and suspension differ. Obviously the AMG GT will have higher tier versions that the SL won't.Long as it's more hard core and coupe only, it shouldn't be an issue.

I would love to see luxury spec SL with wood inlay and other classic touches.
The 992 is so drop dead stunning, if it can equal that I'd be more than pleased. So good that I hope that it will peacefully coexist with the splendid 992 Carreras. Automobiledom needs both.
Do you think that there will be a Maybach variant? I certainly hope so. The RR dawn needs competition.I can't wait to see it either. A new SL is a rare thing.

This is an AMG developed product so there will be no Maybach model. It wasn't even considered.
I'm hoping they go for a true 4-seat cabriolet that is a Maybach only product.
A Maybach SL would be ridiculous anyway lol. Now a separate roadster like that concept, would definitely work. What Mercedes needs to do is make AMG like Porsche and that is what they are intending, and Maybach may eventually get their own products again too. There was an article in the April issue in CAR about this. I'm hoping they go for a true 4-seat cabriolet that is a Maybach only product.

"He adds "There is no need for AMG to compete in each a every segment. By refocusing on certain sectors, the brand can compete at eye-level with Porsche, so it's potential is obviously far from exhausted. Instead of sheer performance, unmistakable and highly emotional brand-specific dynamics may well be the further deciders".
Maybach is looking at a four seat high-end convertible, an XL-size rival to the Bentley Bentayga, and an intriguing SUS (sport utility sedan) with could open up a whole new niche. The G brand is considering an EQE based electric SUV.
And only 6m long. Perfect for your standard european car park.![]()
Indeed.
What a splendid foundation the Maybach 6 Concepts could be. With modification of course, such as 4 seats, less caricaturesque bonnet length paired with a prestige clearance more like that of the W223 and a somewhat truncated rear overhang. All else is simply EPIC.
