How is possible such a big difference?
Sent out some PMs at McLife, the video was shot at 44Hz and played at 52Hz. Both were 2up and driven by International GT Open drivers.

I ran a timer and measured 80.8s for the 918 and 79.75s for the P1 on this video. Applying a correction means multiplying by 52/44 giving:

80.8s x (52/44) = 95.5s for the 918

and

79.75s x (52/44) = 94.25s for the P1

So 1:34.25 and 1:35.5.

Still very decent given 2up but not Group C speed.;)

(1up) 1. BAC MONO Oliver Webb 1:31.00 284 / 540
(2up) 2. McLaren P1 Alexander West 1:34.25 916 / 1490
(2up) 3. Porsche 918 Spyder Pro. 1:35.50 887 / 1640
(1up) 4. McLaren 675LT Spider unknown 1:35.70 675 / 1368
(1up) 5. Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (997) Chris Harris 1:36.10 500 / 1360
(1up) 6. Ferrari 488 GTB unknown 1:36.90 670 / 1544

Makes far more sense now.:D

The plus side of this mistake is that now we know what the Merc R50 and AM-RB001 hot laps will look like at normal speed.:ROFLMAO:

A long time back there was a P1 vs 918 vs Ducati race in Autocar. And I think some people wondered whether factory cars were quicker. Well second down is a customer P1 test. 205.3mph in the mile, and also made a mistake changing up into 7th before the line. Seems to hit 205mph in 23s too.

Masacre...

1. 918 - 2:10,21

2. P1 - 2:13,00

3. ACR - 2:14,63
Cayman GT4 - Non-pro driver - 2:15.2

Game over for Solomondrin's credibility.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Stick Trofeo Rs on that Cayman and it'll be beating the ACR and P1.

Wow, that's like 12s off Solomon, a new record.

Lol, Mycroft, will you correct that bullshit above or will give that pleasure to someone else? :)

You make so many dessperate mistakes in the recent days in your agony...

The GT3 really doesn't look like it's on Hoosiers from the g-meter and even that wouldn't account for a whole 12s. Seriously, since when did R7s give 6s/minute? So a GT3 with Hoosier R7s and some re-alignment is as fast as a P1 on Trofeo Rs?:ROFLMAO:

But that isn't the only case above.

1. We have a 570S on Corsas with a +50hp cat and exhaust tune lapping 2s faster than an LT on Thermal Club.

2. Here we have a stock GT3 RS with an amateur lapping in 2:16 on Thermal Long.

3. We have an NSX lapping 2s faster than a Veyron SS and Huayra. And both those were ran in the Winter months.

http://fastestlaps.com/tests/tooenuj3d8tz

4. Note that it's also as fast as the ACR ran in winter (February).

5. Note that time the ACR ran in summer is nearly the same as it ran in winter. So much for heat soak excuse.

http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/thermal-club-raceway

6. The 'heat soak' apparently didn't affect the GT3 RS, which lapped 1s quicker in summer than an Aventador SV and what the Huayra and Veyron SS ran in winter.:ROFLMAO:

7. Note that the 918 lap time used in the Hyper 5 test was actually from a 918 vs ACR test on a different day (video above).:ROFLMAO:

8. GT3 RS in summer laps in roughly same time as ACR managed in both winter and summer, depsite being many seconds slower everywhere else.

http://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/8vagonkmtoi5

9. I guess it also makes sense that the P1 Corsa lap was 4s faster than a pro in a GT3 RS on the short config and only 3s quicker than an amateur in the GT3 RS on the long config whilst on Trofeos.

Are you going to give in yet? Or are you still hanging on to the Solomon is genuine line. He just hires drivers from Porsche tuning houses because they're nearby LOL. And temperature makes the cars slower in summer, unless they're GT3 RSs, then they get faster and can beat hypercars lapping in winter.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

uuuuhhhhhh.... The guy who spoke to the driver: Alec Udell, said that the test wasn't even a serious test or balls-to-the-wall test, like Harris's test was. Then you have a guy on fchat who even said the GT3RS was faster around a 2:00 minute lap than the 918 at a Porsche owners event. Then you have to factor in engine power tolerance. Thats where you have cars that can make more power, or less power than advertised.

Then you have additional features a car can have be done to it such as lowering, stiffening, or removing vents. His tests didn't have those as far as we know. So you have two options:
  1. Take his tests for what they are.
  2. Let the mags do their test with factory provided cars and deal with those.

If you can't deal with either of those, then you're just screwed.

Ugh. I know what the mods said about members, but geez. Im really starting to think he is Mycroft.

Heres what CJ said about his test: Those lap times hold ZERO water for me.

Lets just talk about the video in car of viper- missing shifts, zero rev matching, etc. awful.

Not to mention they didn't even take the 30 seconds to remove the hood louvres as prescribed in owners manual. Car didn't have the track ride height or anything.

That group of clowns, well they are clowns and they are not ever gonna get clicked on from me again. I was holding out hope that eventually they would figure out how to stop saying F FFFFF every 10'seconds in a video but that's how they roll. I sound like Gran Torino but get off my lawn with these bro hugs and weed dealers.

Also- nobody should put stock in lap times at thermal without running the whole track- that south loop is 8 turns and 7 are hairpins. When you incorporate the other side you have a much better design overall.

Do you really think that WBarnes isn't Mycroft?
He has a decent job at McLaren marketing department and God knows, how his employer has given green light to all this disgusting behaviour from their (McLaren)part...

I tried to give him the benefit of a doubt when I first noticed he posted nearly the exact same thing that Mycroft posted on Mclife. But with these recent "Macca only" posts and those laughing "smileys", I'm becoming more sure of it. Plus, theres what the mods said earlier as well...

he's also on fastestlaps

Nevertheless, he is bleeding, so enjoy the show...
I wouldn't ban him for doubling accounts after being banned, because he is free of charge show for all of us:)

Then you have the fact this g-meter barely saw near 1.0g under cornering and braking, despite seeing 1.3-1.7g regularly in the Harris test. This is basically driving Miss Daisy, not a lap test, yet many like Boyko have placed so much weight on them, describing them as 'the definitive test'. This is probably why they dropped the g-meter at Thermal Long.

^This 100%.

What happens in other forums doesn't concern GCF. Keep it clean and civil please.
If you're talking about the quote i posted with CJ, then that was pointing out the times that Salmon did at thermal.

If you're talking about us mentioning the name "Sroser", we were merely stating that he had alternate names on different sites that would probably confuse the average person as to who he is, and that he (Mycroft) is back at it again.

So long story short, we were just doing amateur detective work. And don't worry, we know he can't be banned right now, so we are trying as hard as we can to keep it clean by simply knocking down and debunking or ignoring his arguments for the P1.:)
