The R107 is still such a good looking car that is starting to appreciate in value a lot and make a good collection investment.

I think this is one SL model that has not been covered in this forum before and that is the older 1963 230SL. It is a stunning car with a beautifully crafted interior. This was when Mercedes were made with real chrome and hardly any plastic.

Not sure, on paper, the SL550 is the slowest one here.

Something does not seem right with that SL550 the acceleration times were very slow. 0-100km/h in 6.6sec is more or less the times of the 302hp 3valve per cylinder 5.0ltr 2002 model SL500. The SL550 should be doing at least 5.5sec to 100km/h and even the SL450 R231 time of 5,7sec seems slow, it should be at least 5.1sec.

MotorTrend has a 0-60mph time of 4.9-second for the 2017 SL43. Road and Track has a 5.3-second time for the 2008 SL550.
These cars are older. Mileage and maintenance will have a roll in how well thay will perform.
The latest SL43 would still have them beat on a 0-60 drag time, even if the others were new.
