KA, the new CLS has more votes. ;)

Actually C219 is the first CLS and C218 is the new CLS (Hofmeister noted that in the pics posted in the OP as well).

Really confusing for M-B to go backwards like that. Seems like they're gonna have to move into the "3" numerical's pretty soon.

I'm sorry, but adding the Concept CS ruins the complete poll.

It's a concept, incomparable to the others which are all production cars. Unfair, and strange to add. Of course most will vote for that piece of never made eye candy....

Concept vs. Production cars???:cautious:

My choice -

Seriously! And because the M6 GC doesn't exist yet, I will have a CLS63 AMG too, thank you very much.

Oh, and the Panamera is a 4 door hunchback, it has nothing to do with either a sedan OR a coupe. Doesn't belong here either, nor does the craptastic A7, which is even uglier than the Panny.

I only added the CS to the poll because its based purely on stylistic merit. The CS isn't unrealistic anyway, give it normal door handles, and a few other ( very minor ) changes and thats what a production version would have looked like.

I know the A7 and Panamera aren't four door coupes ( actually five doors ) but they compete with 4 Dr C's, just executed differently. Thats like saying in a style competition between an F12 and the Aventador that they cant compete because the F12 has a hatchback?

That's not necessarily true. If that were the case the 6er GC should have come out looking exactly like you have described.

WHO ELSE INCORRECTLY VOTED FOR THE OLD CLS (C219) WHEN THEY IN FACT THOUGHT THEY WERE VOTING FOR THE NEW ONE (C218)? I DID. I DEMAND A RECOUNT! :D (The poll should have clearly identified which was the new one and which was the old one).

I thought Mercedes fans would go crazy if I didn't include the original " banana coupe "

Not really...I love them both. K-A is the only one about to have a heart attack over lines.

Only thing I would suggest is next time put "New CLS" and "Old CLS". I am mentally slow when it comes to code names except for the S-class.

I think he secretly wants a fully equipped CLS 550 with AMG package in designo cashmere white with designo light brown leather and black piano trim. :D

C'mon now, those lines get criticized all over the web. Not to mention I heard people at the Auto Show, etc. Give it a few years when the hoopla wears off, not to mention when the car gets replaced, those flawed surface lines will be making even current supporters cringe as they accelerate the datedness of the car.

I've never realized how ugly the A7 was until now. In person it looks interesting, but that profile reminds me of a cockroach

Haha, no, already tried to put myself to that test and convince myself into it.

Firstly, the horrendous headroom that makes me have to kink my neck just to fit in it is unlivable-uncomfortable, not to mention a safety hazard. Then, the styling just doesn't agree with me at all. In fact, the headroom aspect for my 6'4 frame, and even the CL with its lousy 36.9" headroom along with it (and even my W212 which has less headroom than a friggin' 6-Series!), have made me write off the M-B brand. I don't think I'll be supporting them anymore, unless they make something that I can't resist and is designed friendly for taller torso people.

IMO, the 6 GC has made the CLS obsolete. If it weren't for the CLS's drastically cheaper price making it a far better value, I don't think the CLS has one thing on the GC. The GC has MORE headroom than my more upright-SEDAN E-Class, about 3" more than the CLS (a world of difference) WHILE still being sleeker! (BMW engineers proved more capable in this regard than M-B engineers), and much more timeless and more resolved, more refined, more mature yet still more youthful at the same time, design. The CLS for some reason looks "old-man'ish" to me for a "4 Door Coupe". A 6 GC in white with M-Pack is really a beautiful car for a "4 Door Coupe" (which again is an awkward segment still to me to begin with).

There's a guy on the MB Board that JUST bought a CLS, and is losing a TON of money to give up his Lease, to get a 640 GC.... NOT a 650, but a 640. And get this: Not only is he LOSING money on the CLS Lease, but the 640 costs MORE, so on top of giving up all the money he put down on the CLS to give it away, his Lease on the 640 GC will be even HIGHER than the CLS! I thought he was crazy, until I saw and sat in the GC!

Fair point.
But I'd say the general rules don't apply to supercars ;)

The lines are really not an issue for me. It's a simple design element. I'm more concerned about the overall look of the car. Only deal breaker for me is a horrible front (lights, grill and front bumper) and the car's actual shape.

Only thing I will give K-A credit for is the head room in the new CLS. You should at least feel comfortable in a car that's 70k.

I hope they snatch your Mercedes-Benz fan club membership away for that statement. That over grown 6 series has nothing over the CLS.

Oh I see... The Chevy Tahoe is the ideal car for you, then. You'll love the bit at 2:05 of the video.
