Huayra Pagani Huayra Top Gear (Spoiler Alert)

The Pagani Huayra, a successor to the Pagani Zonda, was initially revealed online in a press release on 25 January 2011. It was officially revealed at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The car is named after the Quechua god of wind, Huayra-tata. The engine is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo M158 V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG producing 544 kW (740 PS; 730 hp) and 1,000 N⋅m (740 lb⋅ft) of torque. The Huayra's body is made from carbotanium; a lightweight composition of carbon fibre and titanium. The Huayra has been redesigned from the ground up, but shares many visual qualities with its predecessor. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 235 mph (378 km/h). Only 100 units of the Huayra were produced, each costing £1,000,000 (1.05 million US$) without options.
You don't know that. We know nothing about the F70 and P1 officially. Its bad enough that the info we do have is rumor, we don't need to be making predictions based off of those rumors. Just as you say the Huayra will be the "worst" of the Huayras as more are released, the same will be true for the Aventador. The Murcielago went from 570 hp to 660 and from a lap time of 1:23.x to 1:19 and the Aventador has way more potential than the Murcielago. If we were to speculate based off of history then the Aventador SV will be quicker than the Huayra blah blah blah its all fairytale.

The problem is we don't know if we can even compare one TG lap-time to another. We dont know who the stig is (or how many different stigs there even are) or the conditions. The lap time tells us that the Huayra is balls to the walls quick, but for a proper comparison we all know that we need the test to be done on the same day and by the same driver (although one driver may be better with one car than another).

Caparo T1 and Ultima GTR 720 is faster on TG-track than the Huayra. And both are a street legal.

^By those standards its impossible to compare lap times.

TG lap times or sport auto lap times are the closest we get to a fair comparison.

PS
This is not lamborghinis game, they cant compete the Aventador is a a lower class of car. Its competition is the F12, SLS black and so on. Cars around 300K euros, these cost around 1 million, its unfair.

Now if they decided to make a hypercar, im sure they have the expertise and the know how given that they are a part of VAG, but why would VAG let them do 1million euro cars when they have Bugatti?

Yes and i wonder why they have taken them off the power board

To me street legal or not, these 3 are redicolous and does not even qualify as real cars

I agree that its not the playing field of the Aventador, but when it comes to lap times it could compete in later iterations.

As for the comparisons, it is not impossible to compare. This is why group tests are so valuable...same conditions, same driver! With TG we dont even know who the driver is :s at least with SportAuto conditions are documented and standardized over all tests and we know who the driver is!

^Yes hence me saying that Sport Auto is also a way, group tests with all those cars are rare.
I remember one with Mark Besseng Driving enzo,ZondaF,mc12,ccx and so on. The pagani was victorious.

Lets wait for the day that happens then..until then i would like to see if the P1 or F150 can beat this TG time:)
I dont doubt it, but then again as i said previously this is the first Huayra.

And about the the Aventador, the SV Murcielago bearly caught the Enzo in its last iteration, 1:19 on the TG track.

So yes maybe by the end of the Aventadors life it will be able to catch the P1 or F150, but by then there will be a Huayra F.

Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari F70 and McLaren P1, may have the possibility of beating the Huayra, but if they do, Huayra has less power right now. But compared to the others, the Huayra is the only one to have loads of hidden potential. So by the end end it might always be the fastest, unless Bugatti bring a game-changer. As for the Aventador and the F12, there is also potential (think Mucielago LP670-4 and 599 GTO) but the MP4-12C has even more, Though it is a 458 and Gallardo rival, it would have no problems keeping up with the bigger Aventador and F12. Nonetheless the Huayra laptime is pleasantly surprising.

But where is the vid? I can't see it. It has been removed.

I doubt the 918 will have a chance its to heavy. but then again porsche has the ability to do magical things.
Do not forget the upcoming 458 Monte Carlo ( scuderia)

Since when is Top Gear a reliable source of anything?

And, I've just watched the episode. Huayra section. Good. Continental GT section. Good. The final 20 minutes with Jeremy messing about in that tiny car? Possibly the most cringeworthy, excrutiating piece of television I've ever watched. Painfully unfunny and deeply embarrassing, but bizarrely, something which seems to have escaped Jeremy Clarkson.

The updated front looks very good now. I start liking its TT V12. Yes it doesn't sound as the Zonda, but anyway it is like no other.

Just saw the video. The way the Huayra brakes is simply unbelievable. And it's sooooo smooth and balanced through curves.

The Pagani Huayra is the fastest road car ever at the BBC Top Gear Test track

Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani Automobili celebrates the record at the Top Gear Test Track achieved by the 2012 multiple Car of the Year Award winning Pagani Huayra.

Driven by the Stig, the road legal 200+ mph Pagani Huayra, equipped with Pirelli PZero Corsa specifically designed by Pirelli just for the Huayra and powered by a bespoke 6.0 litre V12 twin turbo AMG engine, has been able to record a brilliant lap time of 1min13.8secs, by far the fastest lap time scored by a production car in the history of BBC Top Gear and just 3 seconds shy of the laptime achieved by the track only Pagani Zonda R.

Richard Hammond, who conducted a thorough test of the Pagani Huayra said The drama isn’t just restricted to the speed, because inside it looks like a Victorian’s idea of the 23rd Century. And the detail is beyond obsessive.” or “Pagani has never lost it's innocence” and concluded with “If you can afford it, the message from all us enthusiasts is: do it, do it, do it! ".

Mr. Horacio Pagani CEO and Chief Designer of Pagani Automobili:

“We are delighted by this result and it makes us proud. We knew the Huayra had a fair chance of being quick but the time scored was beyond our expectations and we give credit also to an amazing drive by the Stig. But, on top of that, we are delighted that the audience has appreciated our efforts in trying to make a car that conveys not only cutting edge technology and state-of-the-art engineering, but also the continued pursuit of making every single piece beautiful and functional at the same time. I would like to thank all our partners, without them it would have been impossible to achieve such an incredible result”.

Mr. Luca Venturi Press Manager of Pagani Automobili:

“It’s been an incredible year for Pagani Automobili, who we all worked together to achieve these astonishing results. After winning the three European most prestigious Car Of the Year Awards, we were delighted to see Richard so captivated by philosophy behind the Huayra and sharing his feelings with the whole Top Gear audience all around the world”.

Pagani would like to thank its partners:

ASPA
BREMBO
GRUPPO DANI

I don't know why, but I feel like gloating over Porsche, Ferrari and McLaren with their hypercars. I've got the feeling the Huayra hasn't shown anything yet. Of course it is maybe to early to make such judgement until we don't really know anything about the others, but anyway.

^i dont understand..what are you trying to say?

Haha, sorry for bad expression. I just mean that while the Huayra may not seem to have any chance against the upcoming F70 and P1, I'm sure the Huayra must not be underestimated and that it has loads of potential. The Huayra is in some way "detuned".

^Yes there will be several versions of the HUayra, and i expect the same scenario when the Enzo and CGT was faster than the C12 zonda then Pagani came back with the Zonda F, and just went on and further on to take the throne.
