M5 Officially Official: The BMW M5 F10.

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
Looks fantastic. But looks are half as important as the dynamics when it comes to the M5. Straight line figures are the domain of AMG. This baby should be brilliant in the curves. Can't wait to test drive one and possibly replace my grandpa 750i!

Replace it Potential. This new M5 will be the best BMW ever made.

Also, the pictures of this car keep getting prettier and prettier. Thanks for posting them guys!!

I have to say this is the less impressive M% in terms of specs. It hasn´t wowed me as the 507 PS E60 M5 did back in the day.

BUT

This is the most beautiful BMW ever made. Design perfection. It just pee on the E60. It´s far nicer than the E63 AMG.

Really, I doubt we see such a beautiful BMW in a loooong long time. This is unbeatable.

I think some are missing the point. The M3 was always the car for twisties, even the pig heavy M3 E92, and the M5 was always the car for straights, even the momouth heavy M5 E60. Only later AMG came to the game, and as could not build power monster decided to build torque monsters. Now with TURBOS both are the same bad. If not Macca FI engine, then please NA engine. Well anyway the M5 is not my type of car, so my opinion is worth nothing. I just hope it will be the best selling M ever, so that BMW M might develope an M3 F32 that will not disapoint, for that should be my future car.

If it´s the best selling M car ever, the M3 will follow the same exact formula.

There is no relation between how good a product is and how well it sells. Example: M3 E90 and X6 M E71.

They will make another X6 M because it sells well, but they will not make a new M3 sedan because it sells relatively poorly....

I love this car!

9,9/10km is amazing!
My M3 E90 was between 1.0-1.3l/10km combined, like papers said.

I'm so getting a used F10 M5 aprox 2 years old.

As long as this thing is faster than its rivals on track, and also a better driver's car, numbers don't really matter.
With the interior, i dont' know, in pics the F10 looks dull but when actually in it, it feels good and pleasant, while the Eclass for example, has too many buttons everywhere and feels busy.. most important thing is the driver feels good, not an interior that would give the driver some kind of pressure without even driving it.

I'm find myself more interested in the engine than the raw spec sheet performance of the car. Given the rather low displacement for comparable benchmark setting cars with turbo chargers, the beast under the bonnet of the F10 M5 could prove to be a major leap forward for high revving turbo charged engines. Comparison between the new M5 engine and the M838T powering the MP4-12 will be most interesting. Both engines are designed not to propel the car forward as fast as possible but also to awe the driver and give him a feel as close to an NA engine as a forced induction engine could.

For sure it won't be the fastest on a dragstrip. Panamera Turbo S gets from 0 to 100 in 3,8 sec.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
