8 speed auto in 750i/li

Does anyone have any idea when bmw will introduce the 8 speed auto box in the 750i/li? The 760i/li, activehybrid 7, x5LCI, 2011 x6, 5er GT & F10 5er all have it so it seems strange that the 750i/li is still fitted with the old 6 speed auto:confused:! I'm in the market for a brand new 750li but I'm hesitant to buy one now with the 6 speed only to have them introduce the 8 speed a few months down the road:t-banghea!! Scott, Eni, any info:eusa_pray??

I'm proud to tell you that this morning I ordered both 750xi and X6 3.5d:t-cheers:

Photos of X6 are coming soon (I'm leaving for Belgrade tomorrow morning where the car is waiting for me) but you'll have to be a bit patient concerning the 7 Series (March)... :usa7uh:

Today something really strange has happened to me. I was walking by the street when I´ve seen a 7er stopped in the strret. I´ve been shocked because I´ve thought "hey, this car doesn´t look that good to me anymore". When it was launched, I fell in love with the 7er, it was hugely better than the E65, and fresher than the S-Class. And since that day, everitime I see one I stop and take a few minutes to appreciate its lines. But slowly, with the time, that effect has eventually gone.

Someone would say "Meh, that happens to me with every new car", but it´s not my case. I still think the S-Class is gorgeous, or the E92 looks sick, even the E39 LCI looks fantastic to me. I think this is because 4 cars. The first one is the S-Class, the FL has done a lot for the car, and it looks perfect to me. Then the A8, wich is growing on me every time I see one in the streets. And the most important ones, the 5er GT and the 5er. The side profile, the fron, and the rear of these last ones look so much better to me. Different story is the interior. I´ve been inside the 7er, 5er GT and 5er, and the 7er is more than two leagues above the 5er, no matter how similar they look on the pics.

The bottom line of this is that I think BMW should have been more adventurous with the 7er, the had the CS in mind and wanted to be conventional not to eclipse the future CS, but now the 7er is aging surprinsingly fast, specially compred to the new BMWs. I don´t know, maybe in two years time I´m writting something similar about the F10.

That's funny. The Jaguar XF is the same way to me. Was nicest car in its class, no question, about a year or so ago, now it just looks like a boring Ford/Volvo to me. I think it's the bloated sheet-metal and lack of detailing on the side or something. I still recognize or swoon over a nice one, when I see one, but overall....

However, the F10 has been the opposite, it walked that fine line, and ended up "passing".... So far at least. My eyes haven't bored of its simplicity and purity, it has grown more handsome, and alluring. I really think the design is so well done, a proper one on the roads will have a strong presence, due to that.
