Are you talking about those slats, those that 98% of those who gave their opinion in this thread said and assured that they did not work?
It is incredible that the car's designers knew more than the GCF opinionologists.
Man, if after a temp ban you keep singing the same song, not sure what else can be done.

Once again, I invite you to privately assess who has the problem here, if people who see some studio pictures and based on that give an opinion that can change for better or worse after seeing the real product on the street, or those who automatically will praise anything a brand creates.

To me, one approach involves critical thinking, the other, blind fanatism.

What is your problem ?
Who would you be to talk to me about a ban as if you were someone's dad? You are the police or what?
Go defend whoever you want, you are forgotten.
critical thinking
How funny, for that you must first be able to think

Man, if after a temp ban you keep singing the same song, not sure what else can be done.

You seem to be confused.

Dalab received a temp ban for inappropriate comments targeted directly at another user.

Dalab did not receive a temp ban because he holds certain opinions about certain things to a degree other people don't also share.

The ban was not an endorsement of the comments that were coming from other users... simply a reflection of the fact they stopped short of what might be considered unreasonable, even if they were as childish as they were deliberately and obviously baiting.

@dalab, you'd do well to remember this also.

Yup, that seems pretty obvious.

A trend on this forum (and several others I have visited over time) is that the most fanatic members tend to become aggressive over time.

This is brief exchange with him serves as a good example.

It seems that you are still confused, I expressed my opinion and you a provocation.
Besides that, you confuse what aggressiveness is.

The only fanaticism here is in your last two posts, which are very low as intellectual attempts to pigeonhole someone provocatively (again), a very poor resource that some cannot help but use.

Not sure what the confusion can be on my part. They way I see it, you took the fact that someone might change his opinion about a car once he sees it IRL, and stated that, obviously, BMW designers know better, obviously implying the correct thing was to like the BMW from the begining.

And I repplied saying that I think there is much more merit in being able to analize the information as it comes and to evolve your opinion based on this, rather than always liking what a certain brand does.

What you see as a provocation is simply that I state the obvious. Or are you going to think you have the high ground each time someone dislikes a BMW on a picture and then sees it IRL and likes it?

It transforms the front IMO
I can totally get why some people dislike the G60. Objectively, they might be right. The proportions are not what they should be, the interior seems to be worse than the G30…

Yet I like it. It really does look great, aggressive, with the right spec. And the rear end is so original compared to what BMW and other brands have been doing lately.

What you answered is about the ban, you forgot quickly, I can quote it to you if you want.
Starting by provoking distorts the subsequent message, making it irrelevant.

Stating that something actually happened invalidates the rest of my posts? One has to smile at your logic.

Not sure what is your experience on internet forums, but in mine, there is nothing weird in banning members when they become aggressive, which is what tends to happen when BMW is critisized and you enter the discussion.

You can quote your own posts as prove, if you have the time or the interest. If not, one only has to read our current exchange to see what the problem is.

That a moderator pointed out that you got off to a bad start is not enough for you to understand?

I haven't seen one yet to be honest, not on the road nor did I go to a dealership.

I have currently seen three new BMW 5 Series cars at my dealer's lot.

The new model is very sensitive to colours. It looks quite good in dark shades, but light colours don't suit the new G60 at all. Especially this piano black components like the rear diffuser or side skirts then stick out like a sore thumb.

By the way, I feel the same way about many Mercedes models.

What stands out with the new 5 Series is its sheer size. The car makes quite a statement just with its dimensions.

It’s also quite sensitive to rims. The ones that come with 19s look good, but there’s also the option to go for 21s, at least in my country.

Taking into consideration the side profile does not look too BMW-ish, some big rims certainly help the overall stance of the car.

I think making the 5er and 7er really big was a smart move. You don't want your expensive sedan to be dwarfed by a 30k crossover.
I do wonder where all the space went because it isn't exactly ample in the rear seats from what I have seen on Youtube.

And the E65 7 series for reference:

Length :5030 mm
Width :1900 mm
Height :1490 mm

Smaller than a 5er! And the previous 7er is just in length a bit longer than the new 5er.

The EV/ICE hybrid powertrain architecture probably means some of the extra space is taken up on powertrain allowances. Most of the extra height is to accommodate batteries.

A big problem with all the extra size and mass of these new cars is the fact that road infrastructure will suffer.

Space went to waste in order to save BMW money from developing two cars, and avoiding risk. If you have an ICE G60, you have a bunch of empty space below you, and if you have a BEV G60, there is a ton of wasted space in front of you. No way to have a car with so many variations be as packaged as nicely as one designed specifically for ICE or BEV.

Comparing an i5 to a Lucid Air is laughable in terms of packaging. The Air is 5 inches shorter but feels so much more spacious inside. It's like the 70s where a E12 had the same interior space as an American luxo barge while being so much smaller on the outside. Well now BMW is the luxobarge.
