S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé (C217)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
Not sure what the bean counters at Daimler are smoking. First they neuter all their coupes/ cabrios by deleting the fire breathing AMG option

What? The E-class coupe is the only coupe/convertible line that didn't have an AMG model. Unless you're talking about the CLS, which was made redundant by the AMG GT 4 door.

and then they cancel the flagship and the face of the brand, introduce arguably the worst looking four door jump back monstrosity in existence and call it a day. I’m genuinely perplexed.

I'm assuming you're talking about the S-class coupe/vert. if it's not selling in big enough numbers, why would they continue making it? As for the AMG GT 4 door, you can likely guess at this point that the AMG GT 4 door makes more profit per unit at its very hefty price.

let this sink in for a second.. the GLE/GLS class has three eight cylinder options in the US ... THREE!! The CLS and E coupe have ZERO!!!!!!!!

It's like they put the focus on models that sell the best or something. ;)

At least BMW still has the balls (and clientele) to support 8 cylinder motors in their more appealing products

What models does BMW have with a V8 that Mercedes doesn't at this moment? The E-class coupe/vert has no direct BMW competitor and the CLS is effectively supplanted by the AMG GT 4 door in this case.

Well my friend lol, I would like a V8 E-Class instead of a E53. I shouldn't be forced into an E63. Yeah I know the E550 didn't sell. A 523hp M550i is dream car to me now. It has the power of an M5 of a few years ago. I don't get why Mercedes wouldn't do a V8 in the E sedan that isn't an AMG or any at all in the cab and coupe especially since the S Coupe models are going away. Imagine an E63 Cabriolet. I mean the C Coupe/Cab gets a V8, but the E doesn't? It's not right IMO.

Selfishly, I’d love to see a E63 coupe/cabrio too. I miss it now I just as much as I did last generation. Personally I think we’re going to see some breathing room for the E-class appear once the S-class coupe/cab is gone. The SL will be a very sporty 2+2 as you know so the E-class should be able to to grow up into the grand tourer role and have a broader appeal. Hopefully we get news on this soon.

"This paint is called "Olive" code 255 and available via an special PA1 order"' writes Der Landgraf. :)

Oh my, that is gorgeous. I guess I’m not the only one with a green C217 S63. Taking advantage of empty roads out west.

I was just going to post that, but you beat me to it. That really is a gorgeous car. I love those wheels. They are so simple and yet so beautiful. It's like Coco Channel once said: "Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance". They would look good in ANY Mercedes.

Grille shape and front bumper look similar to the ones on the W223.

Now this Brabus 900 S-class Coupe truly is ballistic. 347km/h on the clock and it looked like it could have gone even faster, maybe more room and it could hit 360 to 370 indicated.

Absolutely sick specification. I'm really going to miss this car. If I were a rich collector I'd be placing orders left and right. Make the one above a Cabriolet please. Just not sure about the top color.
