Despite its age, the current S-coupe is still a freaking gorgeous car that hasn't really dated. This S560 in this green looks amazing.

Updated with photos. One of the best color combination IMO for the S coupe. The interior with the designo option is a must IMO, you can definitely feel the extra smoothness and suppleness of the nappa leather.

Just an update on my friend's car, he sold this car over a year ago, and upgraded to the S 63 coupe in the same colour. He wouldn't want anything else, no Bentley, no Rolls Royce, he said the S coupe is the perfect car for him.

Yes, there may still be a few available. Here's one produced on July 24. :)

this car did not age at all, in fact to me it is the most beautiful Mercedes in the current line up. (assuming its still under sale).

So sad that this is the last S coupe, I was always a big fan of the CL/S coupe line up.

It's interesting how we, as individuals, perceive automotive designs. After initially going absolutely gaga over the C/A217 when it was first presented, my enthusiasm rapidly dissipated and then evolved into ambivalence and ultimately indifference. Its' predecessor, the C216, on the other hand, continues to wow me. As does that elusive pristine C215.

...applies to the pre-MOPF models as well:

This generation looks so much better than the last gen.

Despite now been 6 years old, the design of this S-class coupe still looks very stylish and fresh. Its a pity Mercedes didnt bring out a new coupe, it would still raise eye brows

It’s older than that now really, having come out for the 2015 model year. I still want one, facelifted version. I don’t care what anyone says the SL is NOT a proper replacement for a S coupe, it never has been.

precisely! even if it had a hard top - it's an SL-----really odd decisions - they want "up market models" and "profitable expensive vehicles".....then decide to remove what had to be one of their most profitable luxurious vehicles - with no direct replacement - I wouldn't buy a GT as 2 seats, I wouldn't buy an SL as soft top and the 2 seats in back are nothing like the S coupe - The CLS is going. The AMG GT 4 door is...4 doors....and doesn't have the ride of an S coupe....the AMG GT is months away anyway - what on earth are they doing, these existing customers are just going to switch to Bentley? Again, another car like the 911, the continental GT that can be successfully milked facelift after facelift, they could have done the same with the S coupe if needed, just like they do with the G wagon... at least until a replacement came

It's not an odd decision at all. The S-class coupe and cabriolet were slow sellers especially in one of MB's biggest markets (China). It just wasn't worth further investment from them.

China was never a market for such a car. In the areas I frequent NY/NJ, SOCAL, and FL both the coupé and cabriolet were good sellers and are still quite popular. There are barely any for sale at the moment on the second-hand market.

The 217’s were considerable more successful than some it’s predecessors. Times are changing, along with automaker priorities, so this line was let go for alternatives.
