I am not sure what it is, but I am seeing more and more S coupe and convertible around. Perhaps owners are realising how special their car is enjoying their car more than ever.

so its official that Mercedes will make another S class coupe?

Is it "official" ?

That would really surprise me. But maybe a very limited production, exorbitantly expensive "Mythos" 2 door verhicle. Perhaps something on the foundation of the AMG.EA electric architecture.

Just musing here, of course.

I can tell you, that at least in Switzerland they’re not using it as a dailydriver anymore.

It became a weekend toy.

Gen Z will think this is an ai render or concept car but it’s a 10 year old merc.

Yes, this is the ultimate masterpiece by our Slovenian Robert Lešnik, who is also an honorary member of our Mercedes-Benz Club.
A timeless design—personally, I consider it the most beautiful modern Mercedes-Benz.
It’s simply stunning, and nowadays you can find one starting at €40,000 and up, which is an excellent price for such an exclusive and beautiful car. I’m even considering buying a used one myself.

I would go for the 500, not the 560, because Dr. Storp (the father of the C217 and all other S-Class generations) said that, in his opinion, the pre-facelift 500 engine is the best choice. It offers nearly the same sound as the 63, but in a more refined way, the chasis is more comfortable and the 4.7-liter engine is significantly better than the 4.0-liter in the 560.
And when the man who literally created this car says so, then it must be true (from 2:45 to 3:35).

If you spot me the cash, I'll go out and buy one right now lol.

I dream about owning this car one day.

@mr.Mister
I had the opportunity to test both engines. The 500 with 4matic is the perfect choice.

Unfortunately this combination wasn’t available with the convertible.

As a RWD, traction is an issue, he’s right about the suspension, the AMG is much stiffer than the normal S-Class.
The 4.7 isn’t significantly better than the 4L, but it’s a different animal. The 4.7L M278 drives like a classic Mercedes Benz V8, lot’s of torque at low rpm, the 4L is a classic AMG engine, big turbo lag but it loves to rev.
I prefer the M177 63 because of the 4matic, it’s still not very harsh over bumps, although you feel the road.

I also prefer the convertible, it feels special.

It’s interesting that people have no ideal such a car ever existed, they know it’s a Mercedes Benz, but the question is which one.

For me personally it’s one of the best cars ever made.

The German engineering price to pay out of a warranty though:

Just sensational. The coupe facelift is extremely rare, made for only 1.5 years. This S65 AMG V12 facelift with full options is just......wow

I love auto translate. It's brilliant for watching videos on cars that don't have recent or much content in English. Sure the translation isn't perfect but I have found most videos to be watchable.

I don't, the S65 is a drifting maniac.
If you drive this car, the last thing you think about is to drift it.

It’s a powerful cruiser, you glide along, ride the torque wave.

For spiritual driving it’s way too heavy.

I test drove the 500, even this had issues with the traction, the 63 however pulls like a train.

It’s a perfect car for the autobahn.
