I love the colour, wheels and interior colour combo of this GT 43, but the engine spoils it for me.

What a waste of engineering R&D to develop this trim - who is the target clientele looking for a $110k+ Inline-4 cylinder flagship sports car? Just another bean counter MB white elephant model for this decade.

I agree.(y) I guess it has been developed by the same people who led the C63SE development, that’s another white elephant.

Most probably countries with a 2L limit in engine capacity, and big taxation for engines over 2L.

I am surprised this car made it to the USA.

The funny thing is, there is a 2.5L version of the M256 for use specifically in China. So they could always use that.
Not sure exactly how the displacement is made smaller, but I assume for simplicity it's just a shorter stroke. They could theoretically shorten it further to make it 2L....

I think people would take a 2L inline 6 over a 2L 4 cylinder.

That’s interesting (y)

I guess you’re right, I would always prefer a i6 to a i4.

BTW. I guess I know the reason why they offered the 4 banger SL/GT in the USA, it’s for customers who want to drive the rarest AMG at the cars&coffee event. It’s rarer than every Hypercar you can imagine.

ARRRRGH ! That über-tacky front fender vent trim.

Remove that, and you've got one very good looking automobile. Less is more.

A limited edition APXGP Edition of the AMG GT63 with just 52 units to be built is launched. It looks great in Matt grey black colour with gold wheels and accents.
