Phantom [Official] Rolls-Royce Phantom (VIII)

Rolls-Royce has used the Phantom name on full-sized luxury cars and limousines since 1925, making it the longest used car model nameplate in automotive history. In the 20th century, the Rolls-Royce Phantom was a very low volume, hand-built limousine, which in its first four generations was custom coachbuilt to the customer's requests, and sometimes extravagant desires. Whilst automobile manufacturing over time became more mechanised and prolific, and vehicles from other manufacturers could be built in greater numbers and at lower prices, the Phantoms remained hand-built, and production of individual cars only began once the order was placed. The use of the name "Phantom" is a long tradition of naming Rolls-Royce models after ghosts or spirits.
Nothing in the world like a Rolls.

Why do the sales of the Phantom decline in 201...
Even the opulent Phantom is not immune to the popularity of even the ultra-luxury SUV market.
Cullinan is effectively driving sales and such a success they are even talking about a second high-riding model.
By all accounts Ghost II will see more sales. It's a stunner of evolutionary design.

It was only a matter of time (short time)

With the superhit that is the Cullinam derived from the Phantom, the next obvious step is to make a SUV derived from the Ghost, coupeish type, cheaper and a little smaller, I am not a fortune teller but something tells me that they should already be drawing it

This car must probably have the largest options list of any car in the world. It has so many unique and bespoke things that owners can build in and indeed each model built shows the preferences of different people. When it comes to the 2nd hand market for Phantoms I would love to know how many people will buy them. Is it virtually non existent?

Gogo Esther Mahlangu will unveil the 'Mahlangu' Rolls-Royce Phantom at The Melrose Gallery at One&Only Cape Town. She is the first South African artist to have been commissioned to create a painting for the 'Gallery' inside a new Phantom.

Really not sure about the basic colour combo's selected for the car itself, but I do find the Ndebele style used by Mahlangu pretty cool.

I guess this means she's worked on the 525i Artcar, an Isetta, a G12 750Li Individual and now this.

Not my thing, but if saddled with too much money I would have one just for the hell of it. There is nothing even close to it anymore in presentation of sheer size and over the topness. I wish they would do another coupe and drophead. Their stick prices would approach 650K.

What happens to the Rolls Royce V12 after BMW stops developing the V12 for the 760Li?

^The Rolls V12 is a slightly different version of the BMW V12, so I suppose it will continue w/ the current line-up for the foreseeable future....Ah, as for Phantom IX, or Cullinan II etc; we might very well see a full EV (as Rolls-Royce have already announced that they have no interest in the Hybrid tech, and instead, will switch directly to EV)
