Wraith [Official] Rolls-Royce Wraith

The Rolls-Royce Wraith is a full-size ultra-luxury car/grand tourer manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and based on the chassis of the Rolls-Royce Ghost sedan which is also shared with the Rolls-Royce Dawn convertible. The Wraith shares its nameplate with the 1938 model by the original Rolls-Royce company. The body style is a two-door pillar-less coupe with suicide doors, where all side windows can roll down like in a convertible. This body style was popular in American cars during the 1950s and 1960s, and was known as the hardtop body style, not used by Rolls-Royce since 1955.
AWD isn't playing a factor here isn't there is clearly no wheelspin in the Roller

I'm not saying it isn't slower but this is terrible, and simply incorrect, reasoning.

In simple terms the Bentley has 85% more friction at the road available to it, all other things being equal.

- At 10mph The Rolls-Royce can generate 17,188Nm of torque at each of the rear wheels, however the tyres can only exert something like 8300N of force at the road before slip.

- At 6mph in comfort mode the Bentley can generate 14,400Nm at the rear wheels, and 8,800Nm at the front wheels. It too cannot deliver all of this without slip, but it can deliver 6,930N at the back and 8,475N at the front, totalling around 15,400N

This means the Bentley can deliver significantly more torque to the road before the traction control intervenes and prevents you from seeing wheelspin, because it is AWD.

The Roll is not spinning it wheels to begin with. Lack of AWD is not what is making the Rolls slower. Traction is not an issue here. Sorry you guys can type until your fingers turn blue. If you're not saying it isn't slower then then you're talking your neck here because it is.

It's not spinning its wheels because you can not turn off the ESP. This car should never spin its wheels, because it's all about being effortless and doing drag races with it is not only childish buy also completely wrong.

Yeah I don't get why they race everything and it's so annoying that it takes a 15 min video to do so.

BESPOKE ‘WRAITH - INSPIRED BY EARTH’ TOUCHES DOWN IN ABU DHABI
27.10.2020 Press Release

Inspiration for a Bespoke Rolls-Royce can come from just about anywhere – and in the case of the marque’s latest creation, literally everywhere. Commissioned through Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi, ‘Wraith – Inspired By Earth’ takes its design cues from the entire Solar System, and our own planet as seen from space.

  • Bespoke Wraith commissioned through Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi features unique air-brushed artwork depicting the Middle East, as seen from space
  • Bonnet artwork took over 100 hours to complete; unique hand-painted coachline incorporates the Sun and planets of the Solar System
  • Aerial-view theme continues through the interior in rear waterfall embroidery, air-brushed fascia and Bespoke Starlight Headliner

We’re used to clients bringing us grand visions for their Bespoke Commissions, but this provided a new perspective altogether. In our response to the brief, we’ve worked at both the ‘macro’ level, referencing the Sun and planets of the whole Solar System, and the much more personal ‘micro’ level, centring our view of the world on the place the customer calls home.”
Michael Bryden, Lead Bespoke Designer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Inspiration for a Bespoke Rolls-Royce can come from just about anywhere – and in the case of the marque’s latest creation, literally everywhere. Commissioned through Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi, ‘Wraith – Inspired By Earth’ takes its design cues from the entire Solar System, and our own planet as seen from space.

The exterior is finished in Royal Blue, representing the 75% of the Earth’s surface that is covered by water. The most striking feature, however, is the bonnet artwork, which depicts a satellite’s-eye view of the Middle Eastern region. Centred on the United Arab Emirates, the panorama extends across the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman, all meticulously air-brushed by hand in a process that took over 100 hours to complete. The exterior is finished with a hand-painted Emerald Green coachline incorporating the Sun and the eight planets of the Solar System - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

By contrast, the interior aesthetic focuses on the Earth’s surface and the human and natural life that inhabits it. The seats are made from Moccasin leather to mimic the sands of the Emirates’ deserts; Navy and Cobalto Blue accents are suggestive of rivers and lakes and Emerald Green piping symbolises nature in all its forms. Arctic White ‘RR’ monograms and stitching hint at clouds and translucent running water.

The rear waterfall features a spectacular scene of atmospheric clouds rendered in minutely detailed embroidery using Photoflash technology. On the fascia, the Piano Milori veneer is embellished with a satellite image of the Middle East, so realistic that it appears to be a photograph but in fact is skilfully air-brushed. The Bespoke Starlight Headliner is embroidered to illustrate all the planets of Solar System, centred on the Sun. Other Bespoke details include treadplates, a clock with metal radial background, and inlays showing the planets in silver, with planet Earth accentuated in gold.

This Wraith driver certainly knows how to over come the traction control on his car. Fast and Furious!!!

ROLLS-ROYCE REVEALS SUBTLE CLUES TO MYSTERIOUS WRAITH KRYPTOS CODE

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars today reveals a subtle clue to its recently unveiled Wraith Kryptos Collection. As clients around the world begin to receive their highly limited Wraith Kryptos cars, they will embark on decoding the mysterious messages found within the Bespoke elements of the motor car’s interior and exterior.
  • Wraith Kryptos Collection features Rolls-Royce cipher embedded in Bespoke detailing
  • Rolls-Royce teases first clue as first clients receive their cars
  • Spirit of Ecstasy inscription revealed
  • Unique prize to be awarded to first client to solve the puzzle
  • Entries to be submitted to Whispers, from February 2021
  • Answer to code remains sealed in CEO’s safe at the Home of Rolls-Royce

“Wraith Kryptos is a Rolls-Royce Collection like no other. It is embedded with a cryptographic cipher and filled with mystery and intrigue. Today, we reveal the first clue for clients as they begin to receive their cars around the world.

The Spirit of Ecstasy, the figurine that graces the bonnet of every Rolls-Royce motor car, holds the key to uncovering this code. The word KRYPTOS is engraved in Rolls-Royce cipher around the base of the figurine, and with this information, clients will be able to embark on their cryptographic journey. The first client to decrypt this code will receive a unique gift from Rolls-Royce in recognition of their extraordinary talent!”

Unveiled in July 2020, each of the 50 cars in the Wraith Kryptos Collection is embellished with a cipher created by Rolls-Royce Bespoke Designer, Katrin Lehmann. Previously, Lehmann commented that finding the ‘key’ is the first step in uncovering the mysterious code.

With no successful decryptions to date, Rolls-Royce reveals today that the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine on this enigmatic Collection conceals the word KRYPTOS, in code. These seven deciphered characters will aid clients on their journey of discovery as they begin to identify these letters on Wraith Kryptos’ complex fascia.

Similarly, the embroidery on the headrests translates as the double-R monogram, rendered in the cipher. The Bespoke team hopes that, together, these clues may provide a ‘way in’ that enables owners to attempt the puzzle.

Clients will be invited to submit their efforts at cracking the code via the marque’s Whispers application, from February 2021. The first to complete the puzzle will be awarded a unique and prestigious prize.

Only two people at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex, know the full resolution of the sequence – the designer and the Chief Executive Officer. The answer remains in a sealed envelope in the CEO’s safe.

Eternal beauty, still as wonderful, radical and groundbreaking as the first day.
What do you get if you decipher the code? another Wraith?

The last BMW based Rolls, then.
A million for a modded BMW F01 7er ;)

Seriously though, it's a nice spec at least. But please RR bring back the Phantom coupe shape too (not going to happen).

BTW, I really do love your posts and content @Jonathan19 and @Battista. This forum is slowly turning into a supercar forum instead of German car forum lol, and I am not even complaining.

The new blood that was so badly needed?
Unpolluted before the attacks of partialities and impartialities added to the intimate enmities that are brewing through decades of heated discussions.
I agree, out of nowhere a breath of fresh air

It would be very nice if some of the other 100,000+ members would post on a regular basis.
