Evoque [Official] Range Rover Evoque

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, also known as the Range Rover Evoque or the Land Rover Evoque, is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV developed and produced by Jaguar Land Rover. The first generation Evoque was produced from July 2011 until 2018 in three and five-door versions, with both two-wheel and four-wheel drive. The second generation of the car went into production in 2018.
You must be quite a young crowd on this forum. The Evoque is not a SUV, mini-SUV or even a "crossover". It's a station wagon. A $45k station wagon. Personally, I find station wagons just slightly more embarrassing than a mini-van. I drive a Range Rover now and love it, but this Evoque is a black mark on the Land Rover history.

As you are cruising in your Evoque wagon with the groceries in the back, maybe we will drive by one another. I will be the one yelling out my window "Nice Station Wagon!!!!".

There are only two words for this car: Sub Zero.

It's truly an awesome car, probably the coolest body shape since the Panamera. I'd say it's the first SAV, Sports Activity Veichle. The height of the car barely surpass your average mini van. Standing next to it I almost have a bird's eye view of the roof. Tuners like Kahn must be grinding their hands because it's tuners wet dream: It has LED lights, you can fit HUGE rims on it, it's low and has a mind blowingly sleek profile.

In a nut shell Range Rover has designed the Chrysler 300C of SUV -- all superficial with little substance and kids will love it. To my surprise, it's not a two seater but a four seater car with four door. My height is 180cm above sea level and I sit comfortable in the rear with plenty of head room, it's no different than sitting in A4 avant or similar. Problematic though, is getting in and out of the rear. I felt like a rat trying to squeeze my limbs under a tight door gap.

Now that's a nice review right there!

And I second your opinion on the LR Evoque, Centurion:t-cheers:

Am I young? Yes.
Is the Evoque an SUV? No.
Is it a crossover? Yes.

Station wagon is a derogatory word which isn't applicable for such a modern interpretation of an SUV. The body shape is a mesh between a fastback, station wagon and SUV. Sort of like a VW Sirocco, inflated by 15% and given a set of 21 inch wheels.

I'm sure it will have it's dissenters amongst the Range Rover enthusiasts who will find it to be a bit too new age and quite frankly a sell-out. In the middle east it will be a top seller amongst the young and wealthy. That's how good it looks Employing Vicky Beckham as the brand's creative director further underpins my previous "style over substance" argument. Most customers will be first time Land Rover buyers who most likely can't afford the twice as expensive Range Rover. If the X6 is considered useless then this is beyond useless -- but it's so desirable.

Great first post AlbertoJorge. Yeah, we're all a bunch of pre-graders who know nothing about cars. Welcome.

Why thank you for the kind greeting, martin!

I didn't say pre-graders, I was think more of high school. And don't worry about behind offended by my truthful posts in the future. I'll be sticking to the Rover off road forums when the men hang out. Word of advice...don't get your dress caught in the door of your Evoque station wagon! :D

^ LOL, Martinbo knows more about cars than you ever will

But, off to your offroad forums for you. Back to the real boys, where everyone has a moustache, shotgun and cheap aftershave :t-cheers:

Anybody know why I would see one of these driving the streets in jungle camouflage in Lincoln Nebraska. Not exactly the hot-bed of exotic cars let alone any premium dealership (other than cadillac) especially not a land-rover dealership in town?

^Who let Glen Beck in here?

Edit: That wasn't aimed at you Choleric, but the homophobic, xenophobic troll we had here for a few mins.

This is by miles the hottest SUV on the planet. It's the Aston Martin of SUV. Wait until you see the car in the metal. It's actually longer and lower than the photos suggest. The design is 100% pure sex appeal. Ranger Rover Stromer come true, and this is an entry level RR.

I wouldn't say Aston-Martin level...lol, but it is an eye-popper. I saw it at the New York show this past spring and yes it is stunning design. The interior is pure RR too, at least looks it. They wouldn't let anyone get inside of them, but they had both 2 and 4 door models there. Its going to sell like hotcakes and take Land Rover NA to a new level. I just wish a 4-cylinder wasn't the only engine. It needs a good 280hp V6 here in the U.S. Then again the 4-cylinder will make it look "green" to many here. I predict gangbuster sales here in the U.S.

I think its safe to say, this is the hottest truck in the market by miles! Looks amazing in black & in this pic! :icondrool

I'm liking it more and more now...
When it first came out I was like "What the HECK is the point of a 2-door SUV?" but now I am in love with its flair and style!
If it were my choice though I would get the 4-door version just because of this interior option:

I mean would you look at that! It has been said more than once that Range Rover is the Rolls-Royce of SUV, if that is true than the Evoque is the Aston Martin of SUVs. What is the point of a Lagonda now, seriously? :D

It seems like the higer on totem poll the less adventurous RR's designs become. I have to agree with most here,it is very good looking.

Yes, the Evoque does look good.
Our dealer has a great New-Opening and will present the new Evoque this weekend. I will be lucky to drive one for an hour :)
That means stress, because i have also the C 63 Coupe for a test drive :D

The car is freakin' awsome and I'm a huge fan, but they should really stop that marketing BS about Victoria Beckham being part of the design team! if anything she might have sellected some colors for the interior!

I try my best :D
Just got the confirmation for saturday. If i have enough time, i place will my RRS alongside for a comparison of size.

Finally,
some pictures. The colour is not really my favorite, but that was not my aim.
I just want to drive and feel the car a bit.

Let´s start:

A short first impression:
The Evoque has an enormous presence on the road. It looks much bigger than it is, just wow!
Inside everything feels very high standard. This Evoque was priced something about 55 K Euros, wich is a lot. But it is nearly full equipped, surround cams and so on.
In the back there is surprisingly enough space (i am 184cm) and with the complete glas roof you don´t feel cramped.
Behind the wheel you feel just Range! One thing i did not like is the angle from the navigation system, the sun makes it sometimes difficult to view what´s on the screen.

Driving is easy going, the 190hp diesel engine fits good, acceleration and the Evoque is unnoticed at 200 Km/h. You have to view the speedo to believe it. For me, you feel compared to my RRS the AWD in the steering wheel, but not annoying.
Ok, thats all i could do in one hour :D

cuuuuu

Sheesh Jabba, you're on roll of late. Thanks for the great contribution. Love the Evoque - it even looks great in shower gel green.
