@Betty Swollocks

Thanks Betty, in the end the total balance in regard to any post and opinion or abuse then of forum rules in any which way, should be managed by the staff. In all fairness towards members like yourself IMO the moderator(s) and/or Admin should publicly or via PM then explain why actions has/is or then was not/is not being taken. I don't know the democratic nature/rule/law of GCF regarding this, but it seems fair e.g. you (the initiator/compliant) and Kilcrohane (accused) whilst if banned or any action or lack thereof should be communicated.

The verdict or actions taken by the staff (excessive abuse of forum rules/illegal posting/intimidation/racism/threat/sexism/verbal assault/excessive use of foul language and trolling etc.) should in any way IMO be communicated from them to members on a regular basis. that way we can all learn about mitigating or aggravating circumstances that can/will lead to being banned.

I know they are working around the clock, for they are normal people with day jobs still, providing a public service on a public forum. @martinbo has explained many such things, rules, ways and findings in the past. However as I mentioned it couldn't hurt doing it more, makes everyone calm and lessens the frustrations. All being said in good faith towards the staff. Thanks to all you guys for the good job you provide.(y)

I can't speak for the entire team but to address some issues you have raised, members generally receive several warnings either in public or private, if this method is ineffective, we will issue a temporary ban from specific threads or a temporary ban from the entire forum. After the ban expires, we continue to monitor the member's behavior and if that person relapses back to their old behavior pattern then we will issue an out right permanent ban. A temporary ban or a permanent ban requires an unanimous decision among the moderator team because we do not take such decisions lightly. If anyone have any complains you can raise it to the entire moderator team, and if you are not happy with the outcome you can send your concern directly to the site admin, Mark.
I have emphasised this more than several times now, we respect the rights of every single member on this forum, and we treat you like sensible adults. we are not judges, and we do not want to baby sit anyone, and as much as we try, we cannot over see everything, so every single member has to do their part as well.

I am not specifically criticising the moderating team. Whilst I understand you are probably doing things behind the scenes and I guess Kilcrohane comes up in your private discussions sometimes, the clandestine nature of the "report member" and what actually IS being discussed makes it feel like nothing is actually happening.

I didn't wish this discussion to take this turn, although I admit it was inevitable after my post, but from my own personal observations, Kilcrohane has long since run out of any goodwill he deserves.

Anyway, mods, keep up the good work.

IMHO. Why should something be done about it? If there is any case-support, info, experience, source or article/post etc. on the net it should and must be allowed. If a Ferrari bursts into flames or if a BMW owner/driver is called out to be an Asshole it's allowed. So if incident or fact points towards JLR's incompetence and are called out or highlited, I'd lke to hear/read about it. This is normal GCF consumer advice shared. Toyota had to deal with it, so why should TATA owned JLR be excused? BMW's rusty seats?

Agent "K" as you where;)

Anyone here can decide they hate a brand, start googling shitty news about it and start painting a very negative picture about it. Believe me, if I start dishing only the negative crap I read about Porsche while researching my purchase it will be one ugly picture, but obviously also a very tainted, lopsided, unfair and even untrue picture. I will not only be doing this forum a disservice by doing that but actively hurting it. It is not really that hard, but most people have better things to do in life. Unfortunately not Kilcrohane.

The bottomline to me is this, he is not here out of his love for cars, but to push his agenda against JLR - what ever be the motivation for that agenda. I was very supportive of his posts here at first, but it is pretty obvious to me it not his love of cars that bring him here. And ultimately this forum is better off with out people who are not here for their love of cars.

ps. Now JLR might truly be crap and not safe, I don't know. But by having an agenda himself, he is not a trustworthy source for that information.

Kilcrohane has been sent on a research trip to find out why the Earth is not flat.

Range Rover Evoque facelift teased; getting adaptive LED headlights
New engines to be added, likely from the Ingenium range

Land Rover has published today a teaser image with the Evoque facelift heading to Geneva Motor Show early March.

It was only about a month ago when our spy photographers caught the facelifted Evoquetesting and now Land Rover has announced the revised crossover will premiere in less than three weeks at the Geneva Motor Show where it will bring its new LED adaptive headlights capable of providing "superior illumination in dark conditions, following the curves of the road."

The 2015 Evoque will also get an overhauled engine lineup and most likely Land Rover is referring to the four-cylinder Ingenium family of turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines sourced from the Jaguar XE and Land Rover Discovery Sport.

The Swiss auto show could also be the venue where Land Rover will introduce the Range Rover Evoque Cabrio, a model previewed three years ago at the same show. It was recently spied testing based on the three-door Evoque with an electrically retractable soft top while at the back it had a new spoiler lip.

There are some rumors indicating Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations are working on a high-performance SVR version although nothing is official at this point.

Yep this and the Maccan are the only real small suvs lookers. Pity it doesn't have better engine, i would have much less trouble convincing my father of buying one.

The Maccan might be a fantastic thing to drive but looks wise it's a bit of a dud in my books. Porsche needs to stop trying to make everything look like a 911, it also needs huge wheels to look halfway decent.

I like the update, thy've also addressed the infotainment system which was a generation behind competition. Too bad they still haven't improved on the gasoline engine and still don't offer a diesel option in the states.

Range Rover Evoque SVAutobiography flagship version announced
Next-gen model already in the works

Australian media has managed to find out from a Land Rover representative that a new range-topping Range Rover Evoque version is being planned.

Speaking to CarAdvice, Land Rover's design director and chief creative officer, Gerry McGovern, said the stylish crossover will receive a more luxurious version which will be positioned above the Evoque Autobiography. Developed by JLR's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the flagship version will follow the same philosophy as the recently introduced Range Rover SVAutobiography and obviously will be the most expensive Evoque ever so it will be pricier than the Autobiography model which kicks off at £49,805 in UK.

Gerry McGovern also said work on the next generation Evoque has already started, even though the model was facelifted just a month ago. Before a new-gen arrives, Land Rover will introduce an Evoque Cabrio which is set to debut in production form this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

For a vehicle which was only expected to sell 35,000 units per year it's pretty impressive that RR sold 125,000 of them in 2014.

Why Range Rovers do the business for JLR

According to official figures, Jaguar Land Rover enjoyed a healthy global sales increase in 2014.

Combined sales of Jaguar and Land Rover totalled 462,678 units, which was up 9% from the 425,006 of 2013.

Jaguar shifted 81,570 units, a rise of 6%, for which the brand could thank a 2% lift in XF sales, despite the model being at the end of its life. Sales of the now-defunct XK coupé also rose, by 4%.

But the big winner was the F-Type, which shifted a very healthy 11,506 units, 80% up on 2013.

Meanwhile, Land Rover sales rose by 9% to 381,108 units. The Evoque just about retained its record of growing sales every year by notching up 125,364 sales, an increase of 1%.The Defender rose by 4% to 17,781 units, and the Discovery dropped by 2% to a still healthy 45,080 sales.

But what’s really putting the cash into the JLR coffers is the remarkable performance of the two flagship models. Sales of the Range Rover leapt by 21% to 53,735 units - impressive for a car in its second full year on sale.

However, the Range Rover Sport is the group’s money printer; 82,352 were sold in 2014. Moreover, Autocar has heard that the average transaction price of a Sport sale exceeds £80,000. No wonder JLR’s earnings before tax show an industry-leading margin of more than 18%.

Updated 2017 Range Rover Evoque gains more tech and new Ember Limited Edition

Land Rover updates its best-selling Evoque by adding more colors and the latest tech, while customers will now get the option of a new limited Ember edition.
Having sold more than 520,000 of these, it’s no wonder that Land Rover wants to keep the Evoque relevant as the segment is being flooded with new competitors constantly.

For starters, the 2017 Range Rover Evoque now comes with the latest InControl Touch Pro infotainment system which features a 10.2-inch touchscreen complete with streetview map options, pinch ‘n’ zoom function and a customizable home screen. The screen offers a 1280x542 pixel resolution which represents an 80 per cent increase over the standard 8-inch system.

Land Rover has also added a new trim level called ‘Graphite Design Pack’. This includes a unique 20-in wheels finished in Satin Technical Grey and a black-with-grey-surround front grille. A black contrast roof with matching bonnet and tailgate lettering, darkened front and rear lights and black exhaust tips complete the exterior look of this new trim level.

The color palette now offers 18 paint options, after the addition of Aruba, Farallon Black, Carpathian Grey and Silicon Silver premium metallic paint finishes.

The new Ember edition builds upon the HSE Dynamic trim level adding a red-on-black theme. This includes design details like the Firenze Red roof contrasting the Santorini Black of the body, unique badging all around and a set of satin black 20in wheels among others. The cabin is dressed in black leather with contrasting red stitching and gloss black trim finishes.

In Europe, the new limited Ember edition will be available only with the 180hp turbodiesel engine option, mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox, with the company saying that customers will be able to order it only for a three-month period this summer.

Still the best looking SUV in it's class, the design looks up to date and modern, unlike the already dated X1. It's going to be difficult for them to follow up styling wise.
