Panamera [Official] Porsche Panamera

The Porsche Panamera is a mid to full-sized luxury car (E-segment or F-segment for LWB in Europe) manufactured and marketed by Porsche. The Panamera name, as with the Carrera name, is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race.
Pleasure!

Immense presence honestly - I can't argue with that. Speaking of the 4S not looking as good - I noticed that the stock 4S sans sport chrono pack does not look as beefy at the back because of the ordinary oval exhaust outlets as opposed to the asymmetrical trapezoidal units on the turbo. Could this be an explanation?
That's it, didn't even notice that difference yet. Thanks! :usa7uh:

Porsche plans Panamera convertible

Porsche AG plans to launch a convertible version of its Panamera four-door sedan.

Company insiders say the Panamera cabriolet will have two doors and is likely to cost about 11,000 euros ($16,000) more than the Panamera sedan, which retails for 94,575 euros in Germany,

The four-seat Panamera convertible only will have two doors to increase the rigidity of the car's body and limit the weight increase from adding the folding-roof mechanism.

Porsche has not officially confirmed that it will make a Panamera convertible, but a top executive hinted that more variants of the car are likely.

"We have a broad range of 14 derivatives of the 911 that are very successful," development chief Wolfgang Duerheimer told Automobilwoche. "So it stands to reason we should diversify the lineup for the Panamera as well."

Volkswagen AG, which is in the process of taking over Porsche AG, could use the Panamera platform for one of its brands, which include Bentley and Audi.

"The new Porsche (Panamera) offers the potential for synergies," a VW supervisory board source said.

VW builds Panamera painted bodies for Porsche at its plant in Hanover, Germany. The cars are finished at Porsche's factory in Leipzig, Germany.

:t-cheers:

Lol, what a weird chop. It shall certainly be an interesting car as Porsche will have to somewhat redesign the car to be more suited for a convertible. There is a danger that it might look so good that customers might demand a two door coupe. But I'm predicting that the car will embody a metal folding roof similar to the one I suspect will be on the 998 Cabrio.

Can we get a 928 style coupe first and then a convertible version...Thank You.

Thanks Martin. The interior from photos does look exceptional!

Look forward to your take Merc1.

We won't see this for a while yet in Oz.

Pictures or you're banned :D

Anyway, I stopped by my dealer tonight and they were closed already, but I finally seen it. I love it even more now. Even though I couldn't get a closer look, it was enough for me.... Oh and it was a 4S :D

The only shot I took with my stinky iphone camera:

Ok....so we pull up and there it is........first impression its just an elongated 911, which is no bad thing at first glance.

The interior is to die for. The only one they had in stock was a Platinum Silver Metallic over Black interior S model, stickered at 96K. The interior is like sitting in a aircraft cockpit, both front and rear. The rear does have room for real people even with someone (who isn't too tall) sitting up front. I really wanted to see the beige or brown interiors, those I'm sure are just sick.

The car is smaller and more compact that in person than it appears in pictures. The rear isn't so bad after a while of looking at it. The interior has some interesting touches. The passenger side has some funky swing out cupholders that are hidden behind a door over the glove box. Lousy, too small, ill-placed German car cupholders live on!!! I know who cares, I don't. Just an observation. The rear is separated by a wooden bin that splits when you open it, nice. The rear seats have more support and contouring than the front seats in most sports cars. Impressive.

Overall I like the Panamera. Do I love it? NO. Is it a sheer beauty? NO. Is it ugly? NO. Funny looking, can I get used to it? YES. This one of those cars that sells you on the interior and the drive and the looks last. I figure just like I thought Cayenne has hideous at first, I'll come to like the Panamera too........over time.

Amazing....Speed just had the Panamera on their show Test Drive. I think I'm falling for the car now....It does everything well it seems. Looked real good on the California roads.

That's why I'm afraid to drive the darn thing. A lot more $ than the F10 will be too.
