Wow!! Boring does not describe this car. It’s a perfection of Peugeot’s new design language. What’s a home run both inside and out. I would drive it even if it has flaws.

This looks fantastic, the 508 type front lights and rear lights together with the big wheels and distinctive sculptured doors give it a fresh and dynamic look that is missing in many rivals. The interior is really funky and hi tech looking for a small car, it has a really classy look as well.

Very nice small car, it is my favorite looking at the moment.

For Peugeot’s sake I hope the car has good ride quality and decent 3 cylinder engines. The B and C hatchback segments are exceptionally competitive and mediocreness doesn’t go unpunished.

I am really digging these Peugeot interiors, though I don't know how rectangular steering wheel would be like when driven every day. I think the exterior design theme works even better here than on the 508.

What a great car. Peugoet is dying in South Africa, in the month of January the sold around 8 units of the 208. I see this a a revival for the brand.

Not a big fan of the vertical LEDs on the front end, but other than that I am loving Peugeot latest design language. While interior materials have always been questionable for this brand, the interior design is awesome.

I'm don't mind much the vertical LED, what worries me is how the basic spec on the car will look unless they make it standard.

It looks like a toy compared to the new Clio which has a much more balanced and mature design for a supermini. Rear door looks ridiculously small, door handles look too large and too low set.

The current generation Clio is still number 1 in the segment in Europe even though it's about to be phased out. The new generation carries over the same ingredients (triangular headlights, shooting up glasshouse, hidden rear door handles, trunk bulge) while refining proportions, details and interior fit and finish, just like a Golf evolves with subtlety. Pretty sure it will keep staying on top of the competition. The new 208 does have a refined interior though in line with the other recent Peugeots.

It's nice to see the trio keeping their unique designs. They don't have to copy the German design philosophy, and this makes the market even more interesting to buyers who intend to shop, whether it's this B segment or another.

About this new 208, I like the design. I'm already a fan of the 508 in both interior and exterior wise, and the new direction of Peugeot's design language in general, unlike their previous ones from about 10-15 years ago. This new 208 looks more like a hatchback without losing its quirky touch, instead of a mini MPV

I like French cars, and for now, I can say that the Lion is my favorite among the trio.

More like a quartett now that DS Automobiles has completely branched off and is diametrically opposed to Citroën design-wise. Even though they currently offer no more direct competitor in the B supermini segment, since the DS3 has been scrapped and replaced by the new DS3 Crossback B-SUV

They really did freshen up the segment!
Indeed :) I was expecting a new design for the Renault Clio but it turned out to be more of a heavy facelift and the current design still has that MPV-ish theme with the continuous slope from the bonnet to the windshield (at least that's how I see it!)

Thanks for reminding me (y) I almost forgot that DS has almost become a separate entity. I didn't follow their latest developments and future plans as of late, but DS has the potential to be the innovation testbed for any new technology or design feature that PSA wants to implement in its lineup.

Off topic, but I'm interested to see how PSA will handle Opel...

Back to the 208 :)

Peugeot

Peugeot is a French brand of automobiles owned by Stellantis. Founded in 1810, Peugeot is regarded as the oldest car company in the world. On 20 November 1858, Émile Peugeot applied for the lion trademark. Armand Peugeot (1849-1915) built the company's first car steam tricycle. They joined forces with Léon Serpollet in 1886; this was followed in 1890 by an internal combustion car with a Panhard-Daimler engine.
