Utopia [Official] Pagani Utopia

The successor to the Huayra, named Utopia, was revealed on 12 September 2022. A total of 99 examples of the closed coupé model are planned, with open and track variants possible in the future. All 99 coupés are already assigned to the customers. The first car was delivered in October 2023. The Utopia uses the same M158 twin-turbocharged V12 engine as the Huayra, designed and built by Mercedes-AMG, but upgraded to produce 864 PS (635 kW; 852 hp) at 6000 rpm and 1,100 N⋅m (811 lb⋅ft) of torque available between 2800 and 5900 rpm. Pagani partnered with Xtrac to develop a 7-speed gearbox that will be mounted transversely, available as a pure manual or an automated manual, and coupled with an electro-mechanical differential by a triple plate clutch.

That blue and silver one is just stupendous. 😭 Man, I so hate eating humble pie.
This tend to happen with Paganis. At first sight their new models tend to look weird and then you get slapped with an incredible spec and go OMG.

However, it’s mad that exposed carbon on hypercars is a $300-400k option. Thats Aventador money.

Some of the carbon work on these cars is fantasitc. I've seen lots of 'proper' carbon fibre race car parts, and the carbon work is nowhere near as neat or consistent, or highly polished. I can only assume that it simply takes a lot longer to form the parts when they have to be visually perfect - no inconsistencies in the lay up, no creases, no waves. I'd guess the moulds also have to be highly polished to a certain standard in order for the resin to be as smooth as possible when it comes out.

I suppose it's a bit like having exposed welds, they have to be 'better' than welds that people don't see, even if functionally they're equal.

Correct. When the spec exposed carbon, you are paying for perfection and countless of hours of hand polishing of parts.

I also imagine rejected parts are factored into the price as an imperfect carbon weave or kink would stand out like a sore thumb under clear coat.
