Huayra [Official] Pagani Huayra

The Pagani Huayra, named after the Quechua god of wind, Huayra-tata, is the successor to the Pagani Zonda.
A R T on wheels, I can't think of this being driven, the amount of attention to details really surpass the Veyron, although VW might have a better quality control, but this is more noble. It feeeels waaaay classier. Well Done Pagani :D

I think the interior needs to be laid in carbon fiber, the metal is a little to polished for my taste. The engine is interesting, I'm getting a 50's vibe looking at it.

Need more pictures and information ASAP!

Edit: 50's vibe from the interior as well. :D

IMO,there will be either option to include carbon fiber interior/exterior in current car or it will be standard layout in some R or Special Edition of this car.

This really is one of the ugliest super cars i have ever seen. Huge disappointment. Even the interior looks Chinese. The Zonda wasnt a pretty car but there was something charming about it's purposeful design but this just look bloated and tacky. I wonder if the list price includes a free medallion and shell suit?

If it splits opinions its truely great:D

thats the way i see it

One thing is certain, the design of the gearbox is epic, very original and with the materials and operation to the truly spectacular sight.

sorry my english

I'm in love all over again. I feel like I'm 6. The attention to detail is ASTOUNDING!! This truly is automotive art.

PS. I wonder if that M158 engine is still the SOHC 3 valve per cylinder unit?

I was wondering the same thing as well. I wager since this engine's bespoke from the ground up and made to Pagani's spec, that it's 4-valve/cyl. Unfortunately I can't cite that. Pure speculation on my end.

Also, did not realize that Pagani helped design the Chrylser ME-412 (?) Concept from a few years ago. I absolutely see his influence in that design, both inside and out. While the Huarya may not be to everyone's liking, I really respect Horacio doing things his own way and demanding perfection right down to even the smallest detail.

That's exactly what sets this company apart. Pagani is a master of art, truly. The attention to detail that goes into the Pagani automobiles is, IMHO, superior to anyone else in the industry.

After absorbing it all in, these are a few small things that I dislike about the Huayra:

- Key
- WTF, the Key has a lid? oops, I lost the lid.
- execution of the large touch screen display. Hate the thick bezel around the screen. Reminds me of the old CRT tv's. IMO would have been much better if it sat flush on the center console without the thick border.
- The center hub on the steering wheel. Yay it has a airbag but a tad too big and plain.
- Poor execution of the LED DRL's.
- The front diffuser is without doubt the weakest part of the car. To a certain extent I can excuse it for the form follows function but still, could have done better.
- The big a$$ huayra badge on the passenger side dash. Its almost as if they had too many made and didnt know what to do with them. Having it subtly embossed on the leather on the dash/seats would have looked much better.
- No NA engine. The new AMG V12 might be lighter, more powerful and greener but no way it will ever compare to the eargasmic sound track of the Zonda.
- No maunual transmission. Another trait of the Zonda that I admired so much. I hope it will atleast be offered as an option in the near future.

otherwise, I LOVE IT

Agreed and may i add that stupid leather below it... WTF? Looks like some ancient bag...:t-banghea

AGREED! :usa7uh:

Well, the wait is finally over and we all now know about the car which will replace the Pagani Zonda. Called the Huayra, the first thing people ask me is how you pronounce its name; it's Wie-era, which sounds slightly Geordie but is the name given to an ancient Argentinean God of wind. No, I'm not going there..

After some badly scanned photographs leaked from a Spanish car magazine, for a while it didn't look too clever for Pagani but now some proper images are out there, it seems most of the early doubters have gone quiet. All I can say is once you see the Huayra for real, it looks very, very special. I can understand who think it's not beautiful in the traditional sense but boy does it have presence, as you'll see from our photo shoot in the next issue of evo (out 2nd Feb) and the video here.

My sources within Pagani also tell me it will be the Huayra's performance that will shock people the most for, once past the headline 0-100kph time, this car should be Veyron quick. Do a quick calculation of the bhp/tonne and the Huayra is as near as damn it the same as the 1000hp Bug but then look at torque/tonne and you'll see it's over 20% better than a Veyron. Official performance figures will be released at Geneva.

Finally, if you're worried about the Huayra being turbocharged, then remember Horacio Pagani told me in an interview we published in our August 2010 issue, he was looking at producing a lightweight Pagani, fitted with a normally aspirated V8 (I'm guessing along the lines of the SLS AMG's 563bhp V8) to go on sale sometime around 2015. I understand this is still his intention and the project even has a name now, its called the C10...

EVO, Harry Metcalfe

There you go:D

A masterful piece of masterful art, craftsmanship and tech in one masterful package! I feel sick when reality struck...I would never be able to afford one of these monsters!

:icondrool :icondrool :icondrool

Guys, we need a proper official thread with nice official pics, specs and the press release in the first post.

And I think it's best if Artist makes it and a mod locks this one!!

Everything on the car looks so menacing (especially the rear) and the attention to detail in the interior is fabulous. But reading through the pages, the biggest problem mentioned is the front diffuser and I have to agree, the big open area resembles a catfish. I wished that it would have a sharper front where the hood extends lower to the bumper like the zonda. But I guess pictures can't do cars like these justice, you would definitely have to make a second judgment after viewing it in real life.

Can't wait to see the roadster version and of course the vast list of limited editions.

If it splits opinions its truely great:D

thats the way i see it

Hahaha, ..well then the E65 7 series is one of the greatest cars in history, and the S-class (regardless of which generation) isn't truely great because it always looks nice. :D ;)

The looks aren't that crash-hot, especially for a supercar, but then again it's a bit of form follows function, and for that Pagani has to be admired. What I'm mostly interested in is the various applications of active aerodynamics. That topic is very fascinating to me, and we're slowly seeing more sports car implement some form of active aerodynamics. :eusa_clap

^no the 7er was hated by all..even bmw fans..they just lied..haha

And the S class is not loved by all ( bmw fans again):D

Now to the pagani..as i explained or quoted Mr Pagani: He told that if the nose was lower the front aerodynamic flap would have to be huge..
I think they weighed every possible solution for everything over the past 7years..

As with the gerabox, there was this option of a dual cluth (wet clutch) tranny that would add further 70kg i think to the weight..but some faster gearchanges..they opted for the weight save..
;)

Although I haven't driven a Zonda. I've been lucky to have access to the cockpit of a carbon-fiber galore Zonda F Roadster to cares and fondle for my own pleasure.

Pagani needs to be looked at through different eyes than other car manufacturers. They are what I call a "boutique" manufacturer. The business is not a pyramid of executives and board members with fancy titles influencing and over rationalising about every single details of the car. The Pagani press release says it all, there are quite a number of grammatical errors and one can tell that the press release has been produced by non-native English speaker. Also, take a second look at some of the computer generated press images, the gullwing doors don't are without pneumatic struts unlike the real car. But who cares? Imperfections can be beautiful and indicators that a product is the creation of human beings and not machines. The company has soul and there is plenty of soul inside the cabin.

It's a very special experience to sit in a Pagani. Nothing is hidden. Everything is in plain view and in reach of your finger tips. You can actually see and feel all the mechanics your paying for. The same cannot be said for partially mass produced sports cars like the Gallardo in which the entire interior is made out of leather and plastic panels. Cars like C9 is for individual who wants something truly exceptional and have a sweet tooth for exquisite man made hand craft.

I had a major feud with the Zonda before I grew to appreciate it. There was simply something too challenging about its appearance that I couldn't come to terms with until Pagani unveiled the Zonda with a nude CF body. I'm dying to see the C9 in the same finish and have no doubts that it will grow on people even more. For now I'm slowly digesting the fish-inspired front fascia while shaking my head left and right over the awesome specs.
